The Monte Carlo could be a 77 and the brown abd white Blazer could be a 79.

The Grille on the Blazer looks pre1975, if we could see the nose on the Monte it would be helpful.

You can see how the Grille changed from those tight little rectangles to the larger ones.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

The Super Snake F-150 is cool. I really like the GT 500, or what ever it's called, and I'm not that into Mustangs

When I was in the Army 22 years ago I bought my first car. It’s been sitting in my dads shop for the last 8 years as life got in the way. Finally brought it home last month. 1969 Javelin with a swapped 360 and 727. Wondering if I’ll ever get around to building the 401 I’ve had for 10 years…

I'm just amazed that U-Haul rented you a trailer. Every time that I've tried to rent one the kid at the counter would bang on the computer and then tell me that my 2013 tow package Taco wasn't rated for one, and the system wouldn't let him do it.

    Love the Javelin!

Thanks! I can’t bring myself to part with it. It still needs some things addressed. The manual drum brakes are terrible and it destroys leaf springs. Just shifts too hard with how the trans is built.

I’m surprised at your uhaul experience. I just scheduled it online. Put in the truck model and it booked it. I know the rating so I just assumed it would work. How did you convince them?

Luckily it was all flat from mid Ohio to Chicago so it pulled pretty well. I didn’t set any records but it knocked down about 15 mpg at 65. I just set the cruise and left it in 5th.

I just went onto U-haul's website to try it again, and got this response: "The Auto Transport is not recommended for this towing combination." I entered the info for my truck as requested: 2013 access cab, 6-ft bed, 4.0L, tow hitch rated at 6500 lbs. I entered my '68 Firebird as the car, and that's about the same as a Javelin in weight - probably lighter. I have no idea why it worked for you and not me. Maybe I should fudge the tow rating...
