Yep, either a 413 or 426 Max Wedge beast. Cool photo for sure. A buddy of mine had a 426 Max Wedge Cross Ram dual quad stripped down ‘64 Belvedere back in the early ‘80’s. He took me for a ride in it once. Rattle trap because it was stripped down but holy shit that thing put your eyeballs back in a hurry. I think he had 4.88 gears and a Dana rear end.

I always wanted a navy blue Acadian Canso B74FCDA8-D823-4E7D-8242-DFA38DC6C010.jpg but that didn’t happen.

I owned a '66 Sport Deluxe for most of my life (and had a '66 Custom parts car). I was heavily emersed into the Beaumont World. It was built under the Canadian Pontiac division. Using much of the Chevelle as a base (for most body and driveline parts) - Pontiac Tempest and GTO for the interior. And of course the front and rear ends were one-off creations for the Beaumont. It was a 'melting pot' creation..

Granted - no where did it ever say Pontiac on the car. But the front and rear had the Pontiac "V" emblems.

Still see the occasional Pontiac Acadian driving around here. Sweet little cars - a bit of a 'mash-up' of the Chevy II and Nova..

Back in the day GM of Canada enjoyed popping out some 'Franken-Cars' haha

Weird that every motor was Chevy. I don’t doubt your knowledge of them and I’ve always heard it was Pontiac Canadian division but by the looks of the descriptions there’s more Chevy than Pontiac influence.

How’d you end up so in to them?

When I was a teenager (back in 1986 ish), I was massively in love with any '66 Chevelle. And a couple years later, I needed a car for school. My Dad knew I wanted a 60's something... and remembered that a friend of his had an old '66 Chevelle. So we contacted him and struck a deal - 2 grand, of my own money that I saved up. But after the deal was made (over the phone) it was discovered it wasn't a Chevelle. It was something called a Beaumont! I was PISSED!! I was like, wtf is a Beaumont??? But my Dad didn't want to cancel the deal - so we headed off on a Saturday to get this car. I was grumpy the entire time, thinking I almost had my '66 Chevelle.
When we got to the car.... I saw it looked nearly identical to a Chevelle - only it had a WAY cooler front end, a slightly nicer rear, and quite a bit more chrome!! I went from super upset to bouncing off the walls, in about 10 seconds!! And the rest was history..
My car was a Sport Deluxe (somewhat equivalent to a top of the line SS). And was 1 of roughly 2500 ever made (only around 13,300 Beaumonts were built in '66). It was a 2 door HT, with a 283 V8 and a 2 speed powerglide trans. It was in decent shape. And I drove it for a few years - before taking it off the road to fix it up. But life got in the way - and it never fully got finished. But I knew almost everything about them..
I sold it a few years ago - as I saw the writing on the wall. The person who bought it is actually doing the work to fix it up. Which I can't wait to see it all done!

I feel you brother... Life catches up. And the cars get sold and either go to crushers or to someone that will likely turn it into a garage ornament. My '66 Chevelle was a solid husk and I bought it mid 80's for $600... and in a week someone offered me $1200. Of course I thought I made out like a bandit. C'est la vie...

...^^^... My cousin had a 1966 Chevelle, Marina Blue, 396-375 (IIRC - was dual gas line Holley) and that thing was quick.

We used to race (my 389-335 GTO) and he always beat me. He later retired from WV State Police as a big cheese and became a District US Federal Marshal.
