This my '71 Continental Mark III. I've loved these cars ever since I saw the French Connection (drug car) and The Car (built by George Barris using a Mark III). I always thought the low cut roofline had a very "mobster-esque" look to it and the front end has a quite menacing appearance. The 460 big block Ford is pre emissions and still high compression, conservatively rated at 365 HP and 500 ft lbs of torque on 100 octane leaded fuel...so I have to blend race gas for it....and for being 5000 lbs, it hustles way faster than it has any right to, lol. It rides like cloud 9 too.

Sweet! And Mark III meaning two door. A friend I worked with had a cherry 1969 black on black one. He passed away several years ago and his relatives took it over. Not sure what happened with it. It was pretty flawless from my walk around though.

Well you gotta admit, VW has been making AT vehicles for awhile now. Whether you just need to grab some groceries or make a quick jaunt into Poland.

LOL... I'm getting so used to people not using punctuation I read it as, "bedliner, paint job, and a lift". In any case I agree with @Rorschach. "Car porn lost boner"

One of my coworkers at my first military assignment had one, and he used to let people borrow it (because not a lot of first-term Airmen in the '80s had cars). He always gave us the following instructions.

1. Go straight whenever you can. If you have to turn, CREEP. If you think you might be too fast, YOU ARE.
2. Brake before you think you need to brake. (and he'd show us Mustang parts prices in a JC Whitney)
3. You can accelerate, or you can turn. DO NOT TRY TO DO BOTH. (advice I use for trucks)

Yet he'd still let people borrow it. Good dude. Sold it when he made SrA and bought a late-70s Bronco.

 

When I was in high school in the the late 70’s three people had those ‘73 Mach I’s. Two were sisters. One had a white one and her sister had a green one. The other was owned by another girl who had a black one. All of these girls were good friends of mine and I got to drive two of them. I also used to hitch a ride to school on occasion in the black one. Spoiled kids with those cars in high school.

 

Paint was a bit faded and I’m not wild about the wheels but other than that a really nice 69 Chevelle SS
