Went and visited an old friend yesterday. He’s the one who buys restores and sells 1st & 2nd gen Camaros and Chevelles. I was a ride along on some 1/4 mile digs in his sleeper Chevelle. A 1969 with ugly up top but all new drivetrain and suspension. It’s twin turbo LS motor with 850 HP at the tires right now. That’s on low boost. Should be pushing over 1000HP soon. It’s capable of 2,500 but the tranny wouldn’t hold that. It’s a street car so I think he’ll be keeping it at around 1000HP. He owns a body shop and could cherry it out but he wants to keep it a sleeper. Head snapping ride I can vouch for that.












And he’s building another 1967 Chevelle SS 427.

And then we took his other ‘67 Chevelle SS427 out for some fun. Funny how many heads turned at this ride. Quite the rumbling beautiful beast.

 

Isn't it amazing how many people have a rusting hulk in their weeds for years, always telling themselves how they are going to do something with it and they never do... and this guy builds how many over the years?

My low slow and a blast to drive Yaris

 

It’s his side hustle for himself. His main gig is his body shop that focuses on collision repair. I have no idea how many he builds per year, if I were to guess I’d say 5-10. Some are quick flips while others are complete restorations.

 

Wish I had money in the budget to order one up... The labor involved would kill it for me.

 

Being a Novahead, I always had a liking for 74s.
Very few were seen when they were new and less today.
Can't remember the last time I saw one in the wild.
Considered not a "real" GTO, it was a cool car for that eclipse of muscle cars into the smogger era.

 

That would make an epic RV.

It would be cool to leave one stock on the outside but drop in an earlier GTO motor. Keeping it in the Pontiac family but adding some poncho power.
