Incredible work, but they should've taken the tail light band across the tail gate, lake a proper '65. IMO.

 

that is an absolute abomination! and I love it! my grandfather had a like 70 chevy truck, that he had a 407 from my moms Impala SS, i could see it being fun like that was fun!

 

Wonder how old that picture is, 2 grand for a 69 Camaro.

 

I like that idea. Taking it a bit further by integrating the ‘65 GTO rear taillights also.

If Pontiac had built this I’m pretty sure it would have been a big hit as the El Camino was with Chevrolet

 

And a Z/28 to boot. Definitely late 70’s. By the 80’s they started to climb in price. And judging by their clothes and hairstyle I’d still say late 70’s.

We had a local buy/sell paper here back then. Prices for big block Chevelles were around 2-2500 as late as 80-82.
Buddy of mine bought an 81 Z-28 4 speed car with options new for under 10k.

In their day they were a highly unpopular body style. But then... so were the 2nd gen Camaros.

 

I had a ‘69 Ram Air IV GTO which is the holy grail motor for GTO’s. I sold it for $5,500 in 1984. In today’s world they fetch $150-300K. The $5,500 price I sold it for back then had climbed significantly from just 5 years prior.

I saw this sweet 1969 Plymouth Fury III today. My first car was a 1972 Plymouth Fury II 318.

I asked him to pull over which he obliged. Nice car, although they could have been optioned with a 440 this one originally was a 318. But someone prior to him swapped in a 440 out of a ‘69 GTX. Sounded sweet, the sea foam green with white vinyl top and white interior really popped. In my opinion’69 was the best body style out of all the years they made the Fury.

 

Blues and greens of that era always look great with a white interior.
