Funny that their tow truck was a Chevy, when their rentals were exclusively Ford, back then.

    Newbie here still.

Under the hood. This was my DD until I bought the Tacoma. Now it lives a quiet life in my shop. Love driving it, don't miss the fuel burn. Wish I had something exciting to report about the Tacoma, that will happen eventually, funds permitting. Thanks for looking.

...^^^... Every time I see this type of Dodge or Ford van with this type of headlight configuration, I remember this story and it had a photo back then too ....

Maybe 30+ years ago (or more) a van like this ran off the road and hit a "rustic split rail fence" and a large split rail went through the headlight and impaled the driver. Apparently the split rail missed the most vital organs and the guy lived.

I remember the guy was awake and looking like he was on a bbq rotisserie with that split rail all the way thought his torso.

Maybe it is on google, but that was a long time ago.

...^^^... I love those things ... had a Subaru wagon ... cant remember the exact year ... maybe around 1980 - 1982  was working in Canada at the time and that thing would go anywhere in the Canadian winters as long as it didn't bottom out in the snow.

It had a cool, but worthless ... Cyclops Eye Light... in the middle of the grill with a remote controlled cover that was a Subaru Logo on it ... and really ugly plaid interior :puke:

I think that the Brat also had that ... Cyclops Eye ... too

I was driving from Quebec City to Montreal to pickup a client on the TransCanada road and had black ice on the way back  ... long story short ... got bumped in the drivers side door and was pushed down into a semi frozen water ditch/creek .. was VERY lucky and did not hit the guard rail end piece, but went behind it into the abyss.

I thought we were fuc*ed for sure ... put that little devil in low and we slowly ground our way up that other side of that muddy/semi frozen mess of a drainage ditch/creek. crazy night for sure. lol
