'65 shortbed (Edit, long bed to much alcoholl and to little sleep), 230 I6 in it with the 3 on the tree, 146K miles.
My grandpa bought it in '70 for $500, quite a few family members learned to drive in it before they stopped driving it.

Shorty's are the way to go. Nice that its been in the family for so long. I love that patina! Killer stance & wheels is all that needs, well maybe a v8 but the straight 6's are solid lil motors.

Wait, I misspoke (Too much alcohol and too little sleep) it's a long bed, my uncle has a '64 that's a shortbed.

I really like the truck, it's got some rust in the bedside (Drivers side I think) and the floorpan is rusted out because it sat in the woods with the drivers side window partially rolled down for 15+ years.
The motor appears to be in good shape, I pulled the spark plugs a few months ago and sprayed acetone/ATF/diesel in the cylinders and poured a few gallons of diesel into the valve covers, when I get some time and the weather is dry I'm gonna go pull the plugs and see if I can get it to turn over.
I made the mistake of bumping the starter and managed to lock up the engine when I did that.

I was planning on doing a 5.3 chevy swap (I really like that engine) with a T56 behind it and gear it to Idle at 75 in 6th, but for now I just want to get it cleaned up and see if I can get the current motor freed up, and if the current I6 will work pull it out and build it as a 250 and machine the head a little to up compression, cam it, and put a bigger carb on it.

I've been missing driving my Sweptline the last week or so. I miss dropping it down into 2nd and hearing the secondaries on the carb kick in. The cab has so little sound insulation that you can hear them sucking air over the exhaust.
