    Day 1 in Malibu!

The automobile in the first two pictures, which were taken on the PCH from the backseat of the rented Expedition, is a Maybach 62S:

Mercedes AMG GT, parked right outside the gated community in which our rental house was located:

    Day 2 in Malibu:

Same Mercedes AMG GT from the first day with a Porsche 911 parked behind it:
    MalibuTripDay2 056.jpg MalibuTripDay2 057.jpg

Almost all of the pictures in this post were taken on the PCH.

    Porsche 911 Turbo convertible:
    MalibuTripDay2 096.jpg

The Maserati Ghibli! Gaining popularity in Philly and the outlying suburbs, but as common as a Honda Accord in Los Angeles:
    MalibuTripDay2 121.jpg MalibuTripDay2 122.jpg MalibuTripDay2 468.jpg

1960s Ferrari 250, with New Hampshire antique tags. These can be worth around $750K!
    MalibuTripDay2 149.jpg

These pictures were all taken on the same residential street just off the PCH! This is a BMW i8:
    MalibuTripDay2 185.jpg

When a brand new vehicle is registered in the state of California for the first time, the owner has up to six months to get license plates. Many high-profile vehicle owners, most notably the late Steve Jobs, take advantage of this little loophole to protect their privacy. Mr. Jobs would buy trade his Mercedes or Porsche in after six months and buy another one. He certainly had enough money to do this, but even if I were as rich and/or famous as him, I wouldn't be getting a new $150K vehicle every 6 months! In case you didn't know, this is an Aston Martin Vanquish:
    MalibuTripDay2 187.jpg MalibuTripDay2 186.jpg

    BMW Alpina B7:

    MalibuTripDay2 253.jpg MalibuTripDay2 416.jpg

2001 Bentley Continental R Mulliner (Learned the year by running the plate number through CARFAX; I knew it was a 1997-2001 Bentley Continental before I took the pictures, but while I know the basics of what a "Mulliner" is, I can't tell a Mulliner from a "normal" Bentley):
    MalibuTripDay2 415.jpg

I have a decent following on ExoticSpotter.com, where every single one of my exotic car photos is also posted, and one of my contacts on Exotic Spotter is a guy in his 60s from Hong Kong who has owned numerous Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars (REAL ones, not the newer ones made by BMW and Volkswagen) in his life and probably knows more about them anybody I've actually met. His username on exotic spotter is "silvawraith2" and he was able to identify this fine specimen as a Mulliner just by looking at the picture for less than a minute:
    MalibuTripDay2 414.jpg

Back on the PCH now; Here you see a RARE Mercedes-Benz G500 2-door convertible, refueling at the 76 station (last station for miles in that direction):
    MalibuTripDay2 606.jpg

    McLaren 675LT
    again:

The Bentley Continental GTC! I've dreamed of owning one of these since they came out back in 2004, and I still do to this day:

These were all taken on day 4 of the Malibu vacation (July 26, 2016), when I got bored and took a clandestine Uber ride to Hollywood Boulevard (that story can be found in my Charlie's Stories/Asperger's thread if you're interested):

For someone who knows as much about cars as I do, I will come right out and say that I am horrible at telling newer Aston Martin models apart:

    Rolls-Royce Dawn
(no, it's not a presidential car, but a lot of people have asked it that's what it is; Why would the United States government have a British vehicle it's fleet?):

I photographed A LOT of sweet vehicles in Santa Monica, but this was the only one even remotely close to being an "exotic." Whether it's a standard model like this one or a $200K Turbo S, I will always love the Porsche 911 Carrera:
    MalibuTripDay5 269.jpg

And then I photographed this Ferrari California from my uncle's rented RAV4 during the drive back to Malibu from Santa Monica on the PCH:

Thanks for the pics PennSilcer Taco. I was going to mention earlier about posting pics to this thread with the names of the vehicles. I see a lot of eye candy here but don't know the makes or models. Appreciated.

    Day 5 (July 28, 2016):

The Malibu trip was planned at least 3 months in advance, and I vowed from the day the trip became official that I would somehow get to Beverly Hills for the sole purpose of photography exotic cars. My mom more or less approved of this from the beginning, but she was a bit pissed at me for my clandestine excursion to Hollywood 2 days earlier. She wanted me to go with somebody (preferably my dad in the rented Expedition), but my dad was busy, and my mom ultimately relented and let me use Uber for the round trip. I was paying for it with my own money, so I still don't know what the hell she was complaining about. On top of that, it's not like I was going to Watts, or Compton... I was going to Beverly freaking Hills! Beverly Hills is considered a top destination for car-obsessed shutterbugs like myself (an "Exotic Spotter" to the layperson). Locals are used to it, and a good number of them more than likely take their exotic vehicles for a spin around Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive for the sole purpose of showing off, and probably get a bit of an ego boost when they see someone taking pictures of said vehicles.

As if getting picked up in a Tesla Model S (driven by a guy who worked in the film industry and had met one of my longest-running celebrity crushes) when I requested a ride from Uber wasn't awesome enough:

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I spotted several exotics on the way from Malibu to Beverly Hills and was able to get some good shots from the shotgun seat of the aforementioned Tesla.

Here is a Bentley Continental GT:
    MalibuTripDay5 001.jpg

And here is a brand new (at the time) Aston Martin Rapide from the famous Galpin Motors:
    MalibuTripDay5 002.jpg

While chatting with fellow enthusiasts on Exotic Spotter in the weeks leading up to this trip, I was given some good advice. There's a hotel on Wilshire (well-known among spotters) that has valet parking service. The valets always reserve the spots out front for exotic vehicles, probably (at least partially) due to the fact they know there are eager enthusiasts with cameras roaming around all time. This 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia was parked in one of those coveted spots in front of the hotel, and I had my eye on it before my Uber driver even pulled his Tesla to the curb:
    MalibuTripDay5 004.jpgMalibuTripDay5 005.jpg

Whether you're in your Bentley Continental GT in Beverly Hills, your mildly customized 2nd Tacoma in Doylestown, or that old but well-maintained low-mileage Buick Regal your grandparents gave you as a 16th birthday present in Anytown USA... Cruising around town on a nice day with the windows down and the stereo blasting is one of those timeless things that just never gets old:
    MalibuTripDay5 006.jpg

The same thing mentioned above with regards to the Bentley applies to convertibles as well, regardless of make and model (even if it's a $400K-$500K Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe), financial status, or location:
    MalibuTripDay5 007.jpgMalibuTripDay5 008.jpg

Ferrari California parked on Rodeo Drive:

Bijan's yellow Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, parked on Rodeo Drive:
    MalibuTripDay5 011.jpgMalibuTripDay5 012.jpg

Bentley Continental Flying Spur (makes a Chevy Suburban look like a Toyota Prius in terms of average MPG!):

    MalibuTripDay5 016.jpg

    Mercedes-Benz G-class from StickerCity:
    MalibuTripDay5 017.jpg
    MalibuTripDay5 018.jpg

I know this is a Maserati, and I'm pretty sure it's a Ghibli, but from this angle I can't tell if it's a Ghibli or a Quattroporte; Like Aston Martins, I know a Maserati when I see one, but I am terrible at telling you the exact model/spec):
    MalibuTripDay5 020.jpg

    2007 Bentley Azure:
    MalibuTripDay5 022.jpg

I'd never seen a Rolls-Royce Wraith in person outside of a car show prior to this trip. My first and so far only time in Beverly Hills, and I saw two of them in less than 2 hours:
    MalibuTripDay5 069.jpg

    Ferrari 308 GTS
    :
    MalibuTripDay5 070.jpg

Maserati Granturismo, another one of my dream cars:
    MalibuTripDay5 071.jpgMalibuTripDay5 072.jpg

I've dreamed of owning a Porsche 911 Carrera since at least 2006:
    MalibuTripDay5 073.jpg
    MalibuTripDay5 074.jpg

In Florida, you can get a title issued for damn near anything with an engine and two or more wheels, and put a Florida license plate on it. Florida also has not done annual emissions testing in over a decade and as far as I know has never done safety inspections. The owner of this Bentley Continental GT probably has homes in both California and Florida, and registers their car at their Florida address for the above reasons:

    Maserati Ghibli
    :
    MalibuTripDay5 077.jpgMalibuTripDay5 078.jpg

Maserati Ghibli (I THINK; Like I said, sometimes it's hard for me to tell the difference between a Ghibli and the larger Quattroporte at certain angles and distances):
    MalibuTripDay5 080.jpg
    MalibuTripDay5 086.jpg

    Jaguar F-Type:
    MalibuTripDay5 081.jpg

    And there's Rolls-Royce Wraith #2:
    MalibuTripDay5 082.jpgMalibuTripDay5 085.jpg

1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit waiting for the light to turn green on Wilshire Boulevard. According to my go-to Rolls-Royce guy on Exotic Spotter, , this beauty is finished in Dark Oyster:

    Rolls-Royce Ghost:
    MalibuTripDay5 087.jpg

Bentley Continental GTC (The "C" stands for convertible):
    MalibuTripDay5 103.jpg

Second customized Mercedes-Benz G-Class spotted during my 2 hours in Beverly Hills:
    MalibuTripDay5 088.jpg MalibuTripDay5 089.jpg

Maserati Granturismo, possibly a rare MC Edition:
    MalibuTripDay5 104.jpg

    Another Bentley Continental GT:
    MalibuTripDay5 105.jpg

Bentley Continental GTC V8 (A 12-cyl. engine is the top engine, and until about 2008 was the only engine):
    MalibuTripDay5 106.jpg

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe (Misleading, I know):
    MalibuTripDay5 108.jpg

    Maserati Quattroporte:

    Maserati Ghibli:
    MalibuTripDay5 111.jpg

    Rolls-Royce Ghost:

Aston Martin (I have no idea what model this is anymore; Again, I don't know Aston Martins that well):

    2013 Porsche 911 Turbo S:

Thinking about the women you'd be able to pick up in these fine vehicles, or the vehicles themselves?

The pictures of exotic vehicles in this post and the previous (quoted) post were all taken on Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, in just two hours!
