If I was to build a Slanty I think I'd probably go with the Offenhauser 4bbl setup so that I could get that mid-range kick from the secondaries, with a set of Dutra Duals for better exhaust flow. I'm actually considering a build on the slant six that I'm pulling out of my '84 W150 in a few weeks, but it's tough to justify the expense right now because I don't have anything to put it in, and really I already have too many vehicles in the fleet.

That's a big word. How many are in this automotive flotilla?

Once I get all the wiring down I will figure out what to do with the engine next summer. Converting to HEI right now and wiring in a newer style VR and also bypassing the bulkhead with new wiring for the upgraded alternator. A Holley 390 and Offy setup is a cheap setup and good upgrade as well. A lot of choices to make.

Oh gawd, the Chrysler bulkhead connector... :frusty:
I modded the bulkhead on my '69 a couple of summers ago because the primary voltage wires had toasted themselves (and their connectors). I popped the clutch in traffic and stalled it like a noob, and of course that was when it decided to lose contact. So there I was stopped at a green light during rush hour, without even any hazard flashers

Are you converting to the standard Chrysler HEI, or are you doing that wonky Chevy HEI conversion? And for the VR, if it's mounted on the firewall behind the motor I'd highly recommend moving it to the passenger fender, while you're upgrading. I was burning through one a year on my '84 until I relocated it there, and the one that I have now is 2 years old and still going strong.

I just sold my motorcycle to try and pare things back a bit, but between me and the GF we've still got 6 vehicles that burn hydrocarbons, and 4 of them are mine.

I'm gonna give the Chevy HEI a shot, I already have everything for it. I found a setup on a Slant Truck at the junk yard and it was only $10. I was going to mount the VR on the passenger side cause that's where it was when I removed it. Took it off some 70's Chrysler, big ol' boat.

I've heard good things about the Chevy HEI conversion. I'm only really sticking with the Chrysler setup because I'm a traditionalist, lol.

Those crazy Auzzies and their Hemi Six engines. A supercharger would be a sweet setup on the slant.

This was my chariot to lunch the other day. 1 of 1 in Sport Classic Grey with the Weissach package. The Salzburg is ghosted.
