    :amen:

Though I'd prefer it in red, dark blue, black, or any number of two-tone combinations...

This is one of the few RR models I actually like in any shade of white!

I think John Lennon owned a white one like that.

Yeah, but John Lennon was doing just about every drug known to humankind at the time and it didn't take long for him to give the car his so-called "personal touch"...

Also, for the record, Lennon's car was a Phantom V and not a Silver Cloud III like the white car you commented on. Just sayin'... :D

Also, Lennon's Rolls was not originally white. It was maroon over black two-tone, and he bought it secondhand...

    That’s one crazy ride!

I guess I was thinking of this one, but you’re definitely right. Different model.

Everyone knows John Lennon was worth a fortune. He didn't get his driver's license until he was 24 years old, by which time the Beatles were quite successful. Within a day of him getting his license, every high-end dealership in Liverpool literally came to his doorstep trying to sell him a car, and he chose this 1965 Ferrari 330 GT...

At the time John Lennon got his license, the U.K. was still more than 30 years away from issuing the photocard licenses that have become the worldwide standard (first issued in 1998 and valid for 10 years; Germany and several other European countries, as well as Hong Kong, also have 10-year licenses), and his license would have technically been valid until he was 70. However, Lennon quickly proved himself to be a pretty terrible driver. He stopped driving for good after a nasty accident in his Mini Cooper, so he probably had three or four chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royces...

    @Deathray

Freddie Mercury never got a driver's license and thus never drove, but his record company bought him this late 1970s Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow with a rotation of personal chauffeurs for his use. He continued to use it until his death in 1991...

I just can't imagine being as rich and famous as Freddie Mercury was, living to 45 years of age, and never learning to drive! So many expensive vehicles I'd want to buy and drive if I had that kind of money!

That is really interesting! I had no idea. Rock stars historically seem to have a propensity for crashing cars that they paid a crap load for, lol

Read my other post about Freddie Mercury and his Rolls...

Maybe the late Queen frontman was trying to avoid becoming a statistic!

FUN FACT #1: The Rolls-Royce Phantom (not the BMW-in-drag being built today, but the same model Lennon had) remained in production until 1990 or 1991, with the last one delivered in 1992. The final price was almost $500K (in 1992)! The last "real" Phantom ceased North American production in the 1970s because it no longer complied with American safety or emissions regulations.

FUN FACT #2: Even the newest early 1990s Phantoms still had 4-wheel drum brakes!

I've been to Tebo's car collection warehouse in Longmont just 8 miles from where I live. I posted pictures here close to a year ago, I may not have posted the Lennon car, my phone died half way through the tour, I might not have taken a picture. He rarely let's the general public tour.

Here's the Lennon car and a Duesenberg that was next to it.

The blue car ain't a Duesenberg...

For starters, it has a Rolls-Royce grill!

X2. Not a huge RR fan, but it looks like maybe a Silver Dawn? I don't think it's a Phantom...

It's a Phantom. Silver Dawn production ended in the 1950s...

I thought that the single fog light/3rd headlight setup was a late 40's/early 50's thing for them?
