    So it’s licensed and registered?

Honestly, all I care about is obeying the law and not endangering others. When it comes to modifications like window tint, LED lights, neon underglow, and lift kits, then I believe a title in the vehicle owner’s name overrides all laws. I fail to see super dark window tint is really harming anybody!

How do you feel about modifications? I can’t install a K&N air intake on my truck in PA, because PA adopted California’s emissions laws.

For 1977 and and older vehicles there's no smog inspection or safety inspection

For my Tacoma it requires a smog inspection every 2 yrs and I'm running a supercharger K&N CAI and header and no issues

Window tint laws are in place to protect police. When you get pulled over and they can not see the occupants or activity in the car he/she is walking up on an suprise.

I agree with that part fully, but everyone I know who has window tint is a law-abiding citizen. One friend of mine has been pulled over numerous times for having insanely dark limo tint on his vehicle, but for no other violations. I believe that window tint should be a secondary violation, meaning that police would not be able to conduct a traffic stop unless the person with tinted windows did something that was obviously a violation, like speeding, running a red light, running a stop, or driving with an expired registration, etc.

In Pennsylvania, where I live, front windows in vehicles must let in 70% of light (so 30% tint is the maximum). The darkest tint available at the tint shop I went to, that I could get without violating the tint law in Pennsylvania, was 26%; So, that's what I got. My window is totally legal in Pennsylvania, but it is illegal in neighboring New Jersey. I drive into Jersey a few times year for car shows and to see family, and I've never been pulled over. Quite frankly, I don't really give a shit about the law in New Jersey because my truck is registered in Pennsylvania, but I don't foresee that being a problem.

Reasons I got my windows tinted...
    • To keep the sun out
    • To keep me from getting sunburned
    • To keep nosy people and/or people with ill intentions from looking through my windows when I'm not around

Thats true, a bad guy can be holding a gun against the window waiting to take a shot at the cop if they are too dark.
