That is cool. After owning a 1969 BaJa in my younger days I’ve always wanted to build a bad ass one as an adult.

A Meyers-Manx Buggy. Made as a kit and adapted on to a Volkswagen Beetle. The kits were produced from 1965-1971. A later version came out in 1999 and I think are still produced. They made off road versions and street versions. When I was in the market for a BaJa bug one of the off road versions popped up in the classifieds. I went and test drove it and almost bought it. I backed out after the thought of freezing my ass off in Colorado, it being my only transportation. I was totally happy with my later BaJa bug purchase.

This past summer there was a Meyers-Manx Buggy car run here in the mountains. There must have been 20-30 of those buggies in a line driving along. Wish I had gotten some photos. They come in lots of different configurations and colors.

A small contribution for the Chevy guys!
    The Biscayne isn't mine!
The bottom 3 are of my car, bought new in Dec. 1965, and are as follow:

2-Pic. of it taken today with the stock look.

Sweet! A real 427 car? Bad ass either way. If it was born with a 427 it’s a rare beast. Four speed or auto?

Yes, it's a real one and it has a 4 speed, I drove it out of the showroom @ 18 yrs. old and FUN, FUN, FUN! No more slicks and headers though, now I baby it, well at least most of the time! :D
With the cowl tag, and the protect-O-plate that I still have, even missing the motor the car is still rare and desirable as a surviving factory L-72 car.

Lucky you and glad you had the smarts to hold on to it all these years. That’s what I was getting at. Rare even if it was missing the motor and being a 427 car. And with a 4-speed. How many are left with the numbers matching 427? Not many. These are the kind of stories I live for in the car world.

That's the unfortunate part, it is no longer a numbers matching car, if someone wanted to take the time, and spend the money, it could be. only a few parts are from the original motor. I doubt that too many original numbers matching L-72 B-bodies are around anymore, and most of the survivors are probably drag cars. I think 1,856 B-bodies had the L-72, it would be interesting to know how many of them have survived. I did see a few of them back in the day, but not many, two I remember were an Astec Bronz Biscayne with a fawn interior, and a red convertible with a white interior and a white top, both were gorgeous cars.

    OOPS! :annoyed: Yup! :puke:
At least it wasn't totaled, and he handled it a whole lot better than I would have!

I knew a guy at work who had 3 of the old Shelby GT350 Mustangs, in a short period his brother had an accident with one :puke:, and another one was hit by another driver :puke::puke:, he got so pissed off that he sold all three of them.

That's what the insurance is for, I suppose. Not sure why he steered into his house when the brakes failed, though. I don't know what's off to his left (our right, as viewers), but if it was open space that's for sure where I'd have been steering when the pedal said 'you want me to what now?'
