I have also meant to do that project. I chose retirement over another deployment, and was out the door in a month. Didn't do any of the retirement formalities because I'd gotten an immediate job offer that started literally at the beginning of my terminal leave, and we had to move off base. It was a nightmare.

Anyway, obligatory pic...reference shot for a 20 year-old model (metal body 1966 GTO) I'm finally assembling.

 

Taken at Greg’s automotive in Lafayette, CA. A few days ago when i was having my suspension installed on my Tacoma by their crew. awesome shop- real nice work. All the old car guys bring their cars to Greg’s

 

I basically walked out of my job in uniform one day, then back in wearing civilian clothes as a contractor the next.

Rough guessed it from memory, so not 100% accurate, but it should look something like this:


I may have an extra NAM in there, but it's close. I need to pull out my DD-214 to check.

 

I built them on a ribbon mounting site and copied the pic to file. I'll look and see if I can find it again. It was on facebook if I remember.

The truck is really cool. And that lift is really, really cool. Gotta be a good shop if it has fully buried hydraulic lifts. I worked in a place like that once, a long time ago.

He had some old Land Cruisers and Diesels too .... Misc. pics to follow. ..

Get it done man. I did mine for the family. Then one day I was looking and said, hey shithead, not bad for 6 XOI's and a 3 day B&W in Norfolk. (I successfully made the ADM's blotter in Norfolk all the way from the beach in Nassau Bahamas). LMAO so I did the ribbon rack. I'm proud I made it to retirement.

I had lots of friends do that at the Pentagon. I retired a PN1 so someone else did my DD214 but now they added the WOT so I had them do the DD215 correction.

Nice work fella's. Brought out the heavy hitters on my ass. LOL.
