    ...^^^... A 1964 Convertible in black was a rare bird. And if it was a 389-348 (3 x 2's) with a 4 speed .... it was even more rare.

Mr. Norm of Grand Spaulding Dodge has passed away today. It's quite the loss for the MOPAR community.
In the fall of 1962, a new Dodge dealership opened at the intersection of West Grand Avenue and North Spaulding Avenue in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, owned by a 28-year old entrepreneur named Norman Kraus, or “Mr. Norm” to his customers. His dealership was called Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge. In 1977, Norman Kraus sold his interest in Grand Spaulding Dodge, which then closed its doors in the late 1980s.
Perhaps no one was responsible for more sales of Dodge performance vehicles during the muscle-car era than Norm Kraus, AKA Mr. Norm. As a co-owner of Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago from 1962 through 1977, his focus on high performance helped it become the biggest Dodge dealership in the world.
Grand Spaulding Dodge fleet department became so large that it supplied all of the Chicago Police Department cars, as well as the Illinois Secretary of State, Department of Transportation and many municipalities. Also, special orders of police pursuit vehicles equipped with 440 Magnum V8 engines were dyno tuned for maximum power. Many of these vehicles were seen in the film the "Blues Brothers" starring Dan Akroyd and the late John Belushi.
    Rest In Peace Legend

Sad to see G/S/Dodge like this ... I had a 1969 HiPo Dart ordered from G/S/Dodge and delivered to me at Colonial Dodge close to Bethesda Naval Hospital.

    RIP Mr. Norm.

He truly left his mark on the minds of millions of car guys and girls and on the streets of America.

I unfortunately never owned one of his cars. But l loved reading about them and loved seeing them.

Truly a sad day...I am a MOPAR fan at heart, Toyota is my second love.

A man before his time and one that knew and understood 1960s and 1970s motor vehicle performance. He created and sold some truly spectacular vehicles. Wish I could own one.

Saw this sweet 1957 Chevy today.

It was nice to see someone with trust in today’s society. He pulled up to this liquor store and ran in. Left the truck running, I had a good 5 minute photo shoot without him. Upon his return he opened the hood for me.

Love the old Camaro inspired orange houndstooth interior.

And I also saw this new ZL1 today. Pretty sure this is a 2022 model. As far as new vehicles go this one is but in the stratosphere in bad assery. 650HP of bad assery. Maybe more, the carbon fiber scoop gave me a chubby.

One ran next to me down the strip at Bandimere Raceway 1/4 mile drag. It was test day and one is only running against oneself. I was in my buddies Hellcat Challenger.
