OMG that is incredibly beautiful.

 

This was built by Randy Grubb, the guy who built the Blastolene Special. He took a standard Type 1 van and converted it to the 21 window configuration, then hand formed the rear bodywork. He replaced the stock 36 or 40 horse single port engine with a late model Subaru. The guy is really an artist.

 

Bet that would look cool with the whole top done just like the back. Guy has some skills right there.

 

Ahhh Yenko was in my home town. I know of one of the 68's still hanging around that old town. My friend also had a 52 Power Wagon for some time that we still see pop up for sale every now and then. I will see if I can snag one of the pictures of that. I still tell him he should have never sold at the auction.

 

I think Yenko is a Subaru Dealership today, l remember seeing a Yenko Camaro around Monroeville years ago.

That Yenko building has been sitting vacant for quite some time. I always wished the would do something cool with it to recognize some of the history of the building. I know my friend and his wife are in a classic car club and they talked about maybe putting up some sort of land mark there. Next time I am down that way I will grab a picture of the place.

Yes. Marie Curie discovered Radium and I think Polonuim almost directly behind where the dealership was located. I went to high school right up the street on top of the hill. The entire area is fenced off and I believe was concreated over like a capsule to contain the radiation.
