Nope, don’t have time for that even on weekends. There is a local guy where I am at that has a mobile car wash business and comes to where ever my vehicle is at (he has trucks with water tanks so he can wash anywhere). I only pay about 175 since I am a regular and gives me military discount, but normally he charges 475 for trucks. I’ve watch him and his crew do it a couple of times and was satisfied on the details they take to make sure it’s hand waxed, buffed etc. they also remove my seats and everything to shampoo and condition the interior and even go as far as taping up my trims when they wax so it doesn’t leave marks on my plastic trim. He (the owner) personally comes to do my truck with 1 other employee and take about 4-6 hrs of detailing one of my vehicles.

$175 for all that is a pretty solid deal.

This exact same thing happened to me! I was so sure someone ran into me and sped off. Definitely went to the car wash the day I noticed it. Good luck!

Ya, I think it’s cause I bring him customers and give them like 60 dollar tip since they give me a really good discount and they always make time for me. He is usually booked a week or two out, but I just give him a call and he’ll try to work me in or extend his work hours.

I sometimes feel bad cause I have a husky and German Shepherd so the interior looks horrible with all the fur and whenever I overland the exterior gets covered with mud.

If it's the carwash's fault, there ought to be more vehicles that have hood/trunk/ bed damage and you should receive compensation for all damages, and I'd sue for insurance increase damage also.

I’ve only ever used touchless car washes. Sucks to see this.

That’s actually cheap compared to places I have seen. Normally full/mid size truck are around 500-600 for a full detail. However, you normally only need 1 or 2 full detail a year to keep your paint and upholstery from deteriorating and just a quick wash and wax between full details.

The car wash 100% did this. I understand the doubters but the same thing happened to me. And you can't see it from the side mirrors. I woke up on a Saturday to see the damage. Freaked out. Went to the places I'd been Friday night asking for camera footage. I had washed my car Friday after work and knew I would've seen the dent while vacuuming and walking around the truck. So I assured the wife that I'd been hit Friday night at either 1. Lowes or 2. the gas station. No luck with either. Luckily my insurance didn't go up and it didn't cost me anything. Was able to have a buddy pop it out for $30 and a case of beer so I came away just fine. Can still see a little bit if the sun hits it right. Almost looks like two small hail dents where the crease was worst. Couple months later the same thing happened to a guy at the same car wash but they noticed it. It's not the water pressure. It's their setting, different vehicles, different washes, etc..

I don't doubt you at all. It's still amazing that a car wash could do that.

Are the car washes you are going too touchless? Or do they have brushes? I could see one of the large side brush drums swinging around and hitting the rear end but that is about all I could think of.

Needless to say I've only gone to touchless since. I really liked that place too, awesome free vacuums, cheap wash, air dried the sh*t out of it which I loved. Oh well...

Yeah, I only go to touchless now.

Just have to remember to take out the bed mat before going through one though. Seeing that thing fly in the air behind me scared me shitless!
