Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
Don't let the haters get you down!

I like it. As far as "purely aesthetic" mods go, I think it's just as cool as filling in the TACOMA on the tailgate with stick-on letters or putting blacked-out caps over the V6 badge or whatever. And I certainly think it's a lot more civilized than blacked-out headlight or taillight covers.

My only concern would be whether or not it makes the sun reflection/glare any worse as I've heard many Sport owners complain about the glare off the scoop.

Alas, I have an Off Road so I'm not a buyer.

As far as the glare goes, it was definitely an improvement! Yes, this is domed carbon and has a shine to it, but it doesn’t reflect nearly as bad as the painted scoop. So in a sense, this is a cool and inexpensive solution to those who have glare problems with their scoop.

    -cheers!

Might as well just vinyl wrap the whole scoop instead. If anyone likes it though, then by all means go for it. It looks like a mini solar panel to me.

Just like UGAWINO said above... what’s the difference between this or black overlays, the TRD Pro hood decal or any other decal for that matter? It’s exactly what it’s supposed to be, a carbon fiber trim decal. Nothing more, nothing less. Every Taco on here has some type of decal or mod. They may not be to everyone’s taste, but I don’t judge or slam them for it... you do you! If someone likes it, go for it! If not, keep scrolling... simple as that. I’d love a carbon hood, just not willing to shell out just south of $2k for one... love a real carbon replacement scoop too, but no one is willing to make one. So I did the next best thing. I’m happy with it.

For me, carbon fiber overlays are created to make something look like it is made out of carbon fiber. I wouldn't do fake carbon fiber on anything, personally. Since this does not cover the whole scoop, it highlights the fact that it is a stick-on piece, which to me cheapens the look of the truck. Aesthetics are purely subjective, but this really doesn't make any sense to me. Although I think the Pro Vinyl looks pretty cool, and some people don't understand that opinion, so who cares?

    But also from previous post:
“I’m certain to guess that there are probably things about your truck I wouldn’t like... like the ugliest color ever (quicksand) or the fact that your driving a Tundra trolling around a Tacoma forum, or the fact thatyou simply choose to live in Shittsburgh, I mean Pittsburgh... I would never say anything about any of that, or call any of you out.”

    interesting... :pccoffee:
