Carcomplaints.com - Yay or Nay?

When looking at various vehicles and comparing them, I really like this site. Anyone else a fan of this site?

 

I have not seen it before. I usually use http://www.carsurvey.org/

 

I'll have to take a look. What I like about carcomplaints.com is that you can break models down by year and model. For example, the 3rd gen Tacoma has a combined 277 complaints (2016-2021). You can compare it to other trucks of the same year/generation.

 

They used to simply recycle complaints from nhtsa.gov. Don't know if they acquired new sources.

 

It will be a small segment of owners.

I suspect you will only find comments from people who have problems. I doubt if it will have a decent distribution of owner experiences.

Frankly, I wouldn't put much credit to comments from that site as a complete representation of a vehicle.

277 comments is from how many sold over a 5 year span???

<edit> I'm doubtful if every complaint is recorded on the site. Likely a small segment of those with problems.
