 Morning by the time you read this.

Diffs/Trans/Tcase done. Will do the radiator and spark plugs this weekend. It's a 4 day (my long 3 day break + the holiday). Might go ahead and change over to winter tires as well...been putting that off...snow has been holding off so far. Too much rain for my liking though, and really dark.

You can do it! You can do it all night.....er...all day long!

Seriously though, take the plunge. It will be worth it in the long run. I was TERRIFIED when I started my own business. Couldn't sleep for months while trying to get everything into place and I wanted to quit several times. Now I am so glad that I stuck with it!

x2. I wasn't 40, I was 31. It is SOOOO worth it in the end. My wife was 32 when she went back to school to become an RN. Do it.... It's tough at first but once you get in the groove....you won't miss a thing.

Hey Jan, good luck you can do it!
I changed careers at 46 after 25 yrs of structure (ie service).
From what you explained you are thinking it through & doing your footwork.
What does your gut say? Really feel through the fear.
I am sure that you are more than capable of doing the job & it sounds like your future supervisor does too.
    Things work out.
    Best of luck :)

I have been with the same company for 25 years. The first 15 were in the same dept. I switched dept's after that first 15. Am I glad I did? it's a long story but I guess things are working out they way they are supposed to. Sometimes it is more comfortable to stay at a job you really don't like than to change. I did that shift work at my first job for 10 years, some do it their whole life but it isn't easy.

Yep, sounds like you're overthinking the entire process. :)

You've been with the company for several years. They know your work ethic and abilities. You wouldn't have been given this many levels of interviews if they weren't interested in you for their open position.

Often, its not necessarily the experience they are looking for ... instead someone that is trainable and communicates well with others. Having a willingness to learn new things. Being motivated. Team player. I'd take many of these traits over experience any shift.

I know it sucks to wait for the final answer, but its just formality. I'm sure good things are coming your way!!!:D

I can't Thank everyone enough for the encouragement!!!

Yesterday morning early.... I had emailed the hiring Supervisor to say THANK YOU for spending the time and talking me thru my 'temporary uncertainty'.
And basically told her I had calmed down and got back on track, looking forward to hearing from her soon. She replied pretty quickly saying "Whew!!" and that she felt bad and guilty.

So, I guess that means I'm in..... :D

There are times in ones life where you feel like such an ass for getting all worked up like I did. After talking with my parents, I can Thank my Dad for those traits. I'm feeling much much better now...and the anxiety has lifted. I still hash around in my head of what this is going to be like (I'm a women...that's all we do is hash thoughts through our heads!!! LOL).

The hiring Supervisor & Manager have been so extremely nice and have assured me that they do everything they can to help nurture you along and working together to help everything. This speaks volumes for the department itself..... which I can't say that about my current department.

So, right now....I know they have to figure out what my pay will be (I know what the range is) and they have to work with my current department for a release date. If any of you listen to Zac Brown Band....there's a line from one of his songs that sums this up nicely....
"When a pony he comes riding by, you'd better sit your sweet ass on it"

I'm excited.... and know this is gonna be a big change - but after coming to grips with myself  I think I can do this!!!

It had been a week since I heard anything. Got in contact with the hiring supervisor and she said they're going to offer me the job.
Right now... They got the approved to hire. Next, it goes to HR to figure out salary (and whatever else). Could be a week yet before I actually get an official offer. When I accept, they have to work with my current department for a release date. Shift change is in 2 weeks. I'm predicting a release after the following shift change is over (5 more weeks). That's fine with me. Don't want to ruffle feathers here. Lol

Still seems surreal.....this is actually gonna happen!!
