Carfax (shows very short ownership) - should I be worried?

So I ordered my first Tacoma to be shipped to my location (KC,MO from NC) and am VERY excited for it to get here in a week or so. I've been a long time fan of these trucks and am happy to be getting one.

Checking the CARFAX, it looks pretty straight forward, one minor accident when the truck was new in '09 and regular maintenance from then on. Seems like the truck was somebody's baby for 8.5 years.

Then we get to owner #2... they only owned this truck for 2 months. Should this scare me? I can't think of many positive reasons someone would buy and dump a truck that fast. I'm really excited to get this truck, but I'm worried owner #2 might know something that I don't.

Several possible reasons; as FastEddy59 stated, decided can't afford it, or health issues developed, decided it didn't fit his needs, too small, etc. If you didn't have it checked out and just ordered it sight unseen, then you need to think more positively. Get your local service guy to look it over. Way too early for buyer's remorse.

    Just me
In some states the dealer offloads to a wholesaler used vehicles that doesn't fit their flooring plan. By the time it's actioned off and title is transferred to gaining dealer several weeks could go by. May just be administrative delay before available for sale.

    Or not.

Hahaha so far you're winning the shortest-owned contest.

Just found out the truck is delivered today. I CANNOT wait to pick it up. Happy to be joining the Taco crowd.

Honestly after reading your title I was expecting to see something waaay worse. Who cares.

That said, you bought it sight unseen? Not sure about that. You sure the truck you bought even exists?

It's not "bought" yet. I paid for the transfer and have a gentleman's agreement that if everything is as expected/described THEN I will buy it. If it's a lemon, I'm just out the hauling fee.

Edit: You're right, I updated the title. But I'm pretty well satisfied with everyone's answers. And I'll do my own inspections too.
