I’m taking it to an independent shop so they can remove and reseal the windshield. The glass is OE Pilkington brand same as factory except it doesn’t have Toyota markings. No Fuyao or other China stuff.

It’s not the brand but the installer! Believe it or not Pilkintons chip very easy. My Son got a new windshield non Pilkinton and it is legit. $265 installed from a friend who does glass install for the dealers and body shops in our area. I had one installed in my Wife’s 4Runner and no issues. Keep in mind if you don’t unplug any of the sensors you don’t need to recalibrate anything.

Yes definitely a craftsmanship issue, I’m glad it didn’t mess up anything else too bad. I had a Fuyao windshield installed on my 2nd Gen and so far it’s holding up pretty good.

They are actually better than the OEM glass.

Random question but I recall you mentioned something about trimming your flaps to fit 33’s, would you happen to have pictures of that? Thanks

I just took the bottom bolt out and made the hole more oval. I then slid the guards back about an inch. I had an alignment done after and had even more room.
