I also tried to make sure I bought the right setup for my computer. It's being sold as 32 and 64 bit. I don't know if the bits have anything to do with the cable.
My setup is a laptop running Windows 10 Pro.

If I recall correctly, I don't think the driver installed all the way, but through my readings was told to disregard.

If it matters, I have a 2017 Tacoma and was able to get in. I think scornwel is right that it can be finicky.

I just got the Carista adapter. It was really simple to set up and has a decent number of "customizable" options. I turned off the seat belt alarms and set all my doors to unlock on one click. It's little stuff but it's nice to be able to set it exactly how you want it.

Just did the same yesterday...plus silenced the beep when locking/unlocking, chose one step lighter for the auto headlight activation, and lowered the volume of the parking sensor beep. Simple is the word.

Might be able to get away with running Windows with Parallel, or very maybe a Virtual Machine?

Can I check tranny temp with crista? I mostly will change a few settings here and there and the tranny temp is about it. At worst case I can get an older laptop to use tech stream.

I have yet gotten TS to connect to my truck with the cable I ordered. Installed on Win 10 x64. And went through all the fixes for x64. Can TS connect to a wireless OBDII sender? I think that is an option in the config.

OK - futzed with TS this past weekend and FINALLY got it to hook up to my car (Win 10 x64) and changed the lane change blinker to 6. What else can I do on an SR5 that cannot be done via the head unit interface?
    Thanx.
