didn't realize you need to pay as a weekly/yearly subscription.
so you really can't do too much with the free version.

You'd think if you buy the adaptor from them you can use the app for free.

I believe the adapter will work with more apps than just that.

ya works with torque and such.
still you'd think you support their product and app they could at least offer a discount on it. say $20 a year

Maybe for toyota thats one thing but for $200 you can buy Ross tech's cable which activates the software that you download for free, and then can go way more into depth than the app can into any VW or Audi.
Unless they changed the pricing but when I bought mine years ago it was $200 and that includes all the repair manuals.

Cool app though and I'll definitely get the adaptor and what not. Just kind of disappointed its not a 1 time fee and its a subscription based thing.

I've used the VCDS cable on my S5. Working with the RossTech software was a complete bitch and I wasn't a fan of playing with codes on my $60k car. Working with carista is amazingly simple and I feel way more comfortable making changes to my truck. I'll pay $9.99 for a week to set my truck exactly how I like it.

    This? Ross Tech

    Or this? Carista App

haha I love the coding of VCDS. I've gotten so used to it, people ask me to do stuff for their car and then try to show me tutorials but I already know how to. Even if I've never done the coding on newer models it takes me a minute to read the code and know what to do.

I'll do the $10 one, just a bummer its not one time because the scanner would come in handy and the resetting of the service reminder.
I wonder if you can also set up TPMS with carista.

Toyota Techstream will do it. It is available as a free download, but requires a $25 cable to hook up to OBDII.

I thought you had to pay for tech stream?
Or can you download a free version just for TPMS?

    have you used this one?
I was looking at this in the past and wasn't sure if it worked with North american models since this is european spec version. where as there is a tech stream for north american models.
And it still says you need a subscription online?
