I am so bad knowing what packages are what. I have navigation and whatnot but no jbl/parking sensors etc.

Yes I do, but the parts and such are definitely not cheap. Worth it to me, but I am a lighting junkie lol.

I guess for a true price comparison, at price would you consider this truck fair or even good deal?

I just bought mine thorugh carmax. Found a good deal in Colorado and they shipped it down for $99. Test drove it, wanted it and bought it. Easy as.

Plus I have 30 days to put it through the ringer and see if anything is wrong with it.

    Good process imo.

What's the MSRP for that combo? I might would pay $30K for that, but I'd have to think long about it. My truck was $29,900 new (but it is a lower trim model)..... I just have a hard time paying $33K for a vehicle with 25,000 miles on the clock when I can get something new for about the same price.

I'd look elsewhere, out of state, etc..... I bought my truck out of state.

If you like the truck and you have financing, get it. You have three days to return it if for some reason you decide you hate it once you drive off the lot. You can't compare your deal to other peoples deals, just doesn't work that way. If you like it, get it. You're the one paying for it at the end of the day.

I bought my truck out of state because socal dealers don't like to deal on prices.

I don't know where you're at but I'd recommend going to one of the bigger dealerships such as longo Toyota. From what I've heard they are a non bs dealer and pretty fair on prices. They are also the largest Toyota dealer in world so you should be able to find or at least order the truck you want.

As others have said you can get a new one for not too much more.

I bought my truck from them for 26,999. I was looking for a second gen DCLB for a decent price forever. I already had outside financing with my local credit union handled so I end up 2.19%. I didnt even bother with CarMaxs, I sent my sales guy a text of the check and told him I would be there in 2 hours after I test drove it the week before.

Yes you can. You can learn from it, apply lessons, make a better deal, or decide to look somewhere else.

CPO is effectrively nothing more than an extended warranty. Prices on CPO vehicles typically reflect that added cost to the dealer.

If extended warranty coverage is important to the OP he can go buy a Toyota extended warranty for the mileage/duration he wants since the truck is well within the original 3/36.

Carmax is Carmax. Some of their stuff is off-rental, some are from auction, some are from what people trade in on something else.

I wouldn't expect any "deals" at Carmax, they've often seemed a little high relative to what one can negotiate, but that's also the point. They're schtick is that you won't feel bad after the sale thinking you could have negotiated them lower.

As for pricing, get onto CarGurus.com and search your configuration. That'll tell you where it stands among other options.

I got my DCSB OR 4x4 for right at 35k. 2000 dollars isn't worth 25k miles to me. Although I had a friend buy an avalanche from carmax a few years ago and he hasn't had any issues.

It gives you a point of reference. But I don't think the OP saying "but some dude on Tacomaworld, who lives in Louisiana, and who bought a lower model, paid 29,900 for his new" is going to do much for him. Vehicle prices are not standard, for all we know this could literally be the best deal in California right now, who knows. People come across deals all the time, they are not the standard, they are a deal.

I've driven to Florida, Texas, and this truck was bought in Mississippi. I usually make a fun trip out of it. You don't have to buy in the state you live in. Sure, you might have to buy in your area, but it doesn't mean you can't shop around and look for a better deal.

CPO is much more than an extended warranty. Does carmax proform a 160 point inspection of the vehicle? Does carmax provide a free carfax? Does carmax offer new car financing rates on the vehicles they sell? How about roadside assistance? http://www.toyotacertified.com/certification.html
