I stoped by a Carmax a little while ago and out of curiosty had them appraise my truck. Its a 2017 TRD SPORT DC SB 4X4 automatic 1800 miles on it and they offered 32k for it. Thats a little low don't you think? I am considering trading for a manual. I knew they would be on the low side before I got there but it was interesting just to see.

Wasting your time with those hosers. Private party would be your best route imo

Looks like they offered the bottom of the trade in range 32-34k,
So what do you want for the truck if you sold it yourself or what did you think Carmax should have offered?

I am not in the market, but I noticed a few dealers in the Phoenix area where a truck like yours is advertised at just over 35k. I would buy new rather than offer someone +32k for the Tacoma sport 4x4 auto.

Good luck. Hope you can get the Tacoma you want with a manual.

I knew they would be on the bottom end but was curious. You can get a new one in my area for under 35k. To answer your question the best I can is I'm not sure what to ask for it yet. I'm still doing my homework on it. Buying a new truck is not hard but when you make it more complex trading a truck for a truck or selling the truck you already have is hard. There is a fine line between paying high used truck price or go all the way and buy a new one but that few extra thousand may make the difference in someone being able to get it or not. Thank you for posting

You might be able to get a better deal on trade if you go back to the original dealer you bought the automatic from.

Sounds reasonable. It's a quick way to get out of your car with little hassle.

I'd say 32k is pretty reasonable, as others have stated, you can buy the same truck for about 35k otd, so given the sales tax and fees, that's really close to getting the truck for 32k

I paid that much for my new TRDOR DCSB 4x4 auto in December.
    Sounds fair to me.

32.2 actually. I also got them to throw in a set of 5" tube steps. Good deals can be had if you look. I'd imagine if you wait a couple months for the '18's to come out and can somehow find a manual left over 17 (haha right?) You could do well.
    Good luck.

I figure that it would not be a good idea to try to get a 2018. They will be so many people wanting the latest and greatest prices will be msrp or more.

I think resale is going to suffer on these trucks in months to come. Market is cooling overall. Initial quality and reliabillity reports are low.
