    Marines...technically he's a reservist...but his unit has been told theyre either going to Afghan or Morocco (for desert training)...and he should find out this weekend if he's going to Afghan...and if he is then he'll be leaving in early may

    He will most likely go to Afghanistan if so he will be out there with the unit that I am leaving. Seems that a lot of the Reserve units see as much ground time as us active guys.

    thats what ive heard...everyone jokes about them not being fulltime...but then they see as much active duty as anyone else

    ive got 2 friends from home over there now as well...and im not keen on the idea of my brother going...but he chose the marines and he joined during this war...so he knew that he could end up over there...and if he's ok with it then i guess i gotta be too

    Don't stress over it to much man. I'm sure he will go over there have a blast and be back before you know it. I had a pretty good time while I was in Iraq. You would be surprised what we find to do while we are over there.

    im not stressing too much about it...but it doesnt help that i keep hearing that Afghan is so much worse now than it was and Iraq is so much better (safer)

    but with all that said...i try not to dwell on it and i gotta remember that my mom is gonna need the rest of us while he's gone

    texted couchie today....says he does wanna meet up here at the condo then head over on meet day. if i go this route........looks like we will be leaving here around 2:30 pm or so that friday.................maybe get there about 4:30pm or so. if they are able to leave a little learlier, we will be there sooner. i still gotta talk to tj and john and see what time they are gonna meet up here also. we'll have a 4 truck convoy if it goes to plan.
