    You vulture! Just kidding.

I'm curios to man. That would give you some nice $$ to throw into the trail rig.

no...not going to take anything off of it...

i dont want to go thru the hassle of finding stock parts to replace everything with...and i certainly dont want to deal with having a pile of truck parts at my house

the new truck will eventually be housed elsewhere and kept loaded up and ready to go on a trailer...once i get to that point

plus i know im going to want to get in the woods at some point between now and when i get a trail rig ready

nah im not interested in parting out my armor...

it just became very real to me this weekend that even a very basic ledge and hill that you've ridden up and down a ton...can eventually bite you in the ass

we went downa ledge at the top of a hill 3 times saturday...the 2nd time we ALMOST endo-ed but justin was able to drive out of it...the 3rd time we did the same thing...justin tried to gas it and the front spring hangers bit into the ground and turned us sideways and over we went

we we're incredibly lucky to even be able to get out of the truck and that it stopped where it stopped

neither of us had on our shoulder harnesses (which actually saved justin from major injury) and had we continued down the hill we would've been in some serious trouble

i dont think Jeff is fully done wheeling his tacoma....maybe done with the hardcore stuff.......but places like uwharrie and easier trials, i think he's still gonna run some of those!;) hope so anyway...at least till he builds his trail rig!!

yeah you and me both...im not freaked out or anything now...i was while i was still sitting sideways in the truck...

i just have no intention of ever letting my tacoma look like the mangler...and it's just a better decision for me to go full trail rig...

there are a lot of obstacles that i want to run but even with a SAC, winch, and full cage...ill end up destroying the body on...and id rather do that on a 25 year old truck instead of a 7 year old truck

    yup

im gonna shoot for a really lightweight rig and trailer to start with so that i can still tow it (painfully) with the tacoma...until its paid off and i can get something more towards the fullsize truck to tow with

    I know how that goes...

If I was planning on staying in NC for a while I'd be going dedicated trail rig. I came to that conclusion as soon as I got here and looked around at NC4x4 and NCTTORA. But extended backwoods camping trips are more my thing. So I'll be building up for that and URE and OBX will be my test bed.

i talked to will about the rear bumper today...i stopped by his condo on the way home...

since im going to have to work out towing with the tacoma for a bit i may have to swap with someone to get a true rear hitch etc etc...

im not totally decided and i may just have justin build me something basic that will better accept a hitch

i liked being able to say that too for awhile...but i want to run harder stuff and the fact is that you really need a trail rig for that
