I've been sitting back reading your threads about planning your Tacoma Meet.
I live in Delaware, would love to help out, but don't know your region very well. My son and I would love to participate when the time comes. We don't have much 4-wheelin here. Have to go to PA or WV. Found a web-site w/ lots of available clubs, but mostly Jeeps though!

I work for Toyota and I think your idea is great. My 2 cents worth.

As somebody mentioned before, you are not going to please everybody by individual threads/ requests, etc. I suggest a trial trip end of Oct/First of Nov. for anybody that can make it, especially many of you "biting at the bit" for the last 2 months! Wherever the event is, it will be fun and can be reviewed for the Spring Main Event.

In the meantime I think you should develop a small committee for the planning of the Spring Event after the trial event, pick a firm date and location and move ahead from there. If you have the event end of March/April that would give everybody 3-4 months to plan.

With the extra time maybe you could get some area Toyota dealers to advertise or help sponser event? I wonder if there are any local 4-wheelin' clubs in the area that might give some advice. There might even be a track somewhere for part of the event. One thread was worried about Pre-Runner 4-wheelin". How about Sand/Dirt Drags?1/8 mile, no paddles, just for fun! Maybe a Toyota dealer would throw in some prize money?

By the way I am a Delaware transplant, no Yankee! I grew up 4-wheelin" in Oregon. I can slam some beers, but sounds like I won't be able to keep up with some of you. later

    Some good ideas there tacochef.

Join up for the convoy down I-95. TJOpilot, and I will pick you up on our way through Delaware, and then a short stop-over outside of DC to pick up navysob and TacoZilla. Awesome, our convoy is now 5 strong.

    :)

Just read through this whole thread. I'd really love an excuse to drive to NC. However, I'd need a LOT of planning time, since I'd need to take a couple weeks off to do it. I'm not up to 1000 mile days anymore:( Also I work for a federa; agency, and have to schule leave over one week close to six months in advance. If you set something firm I'm interested, but realistically........

I just found out that one of my wife's friends is moving down to SC in DEC. or Jan. If I can coordinate it right, I'd love to come down for the meet. I figure she can visit with her friend for the weekend while I get to go out and play! If, and it's a BIG if, I can do this, I'll be coming from midwest PA. About an hour north of Da Burgh (Pittsburgh).

As it gets closer keep us informed. We tentatively have a 5 strong convoy headed down from this area (6 if you can make it). The longer the line of Tacos all rolling together down 95 the better. You can join up with TJOpilot and I outside of Philly, we'll pick-up Tacochef as we roll through Delaware, and then we join up with Navysob and Tacozilla (with as many Tacomas in tow as he can manage LOL) outside of DC.

Will do. I will have to tie up a whole bunch of loose ends. I'll touch base once I find anything out.

What's up fellas. Just picked up an '07 TRD Sport and am new to TW. I'm in Richmond and definitely want to get involved in a Carolina campin'/tear it up kinda' weekend. I know there are Land Cruiser clubs around here that do some cool trips. Been lookin' in to it but haven't found much. Might be cool to team up with those guys. They know about alot of good spots.
