Thanks for this. Part of the reason i held off getting them for my gen 3 is I heard they didn't make a set specific for the manual transmission and no hold down holes. Loved them on my 2nd gen, have to add them to the purchase list now.

As I mentioned in my previous post, only weather beaters are available for MT from husky but it does have hold down holes for driver and passenger.

I love mine and think they are superior to oem and weathertech mats I had previously.

Question for the 2016-2018(?)* 3rd gen owners with WeatherTechs: How is the passenger side fitment?

I have the OEM all-weather/rubber mats, and the fitment on the passenger side is absolutely atrocious! It's too short and the lip that should go up the right-side foot area is in the wrong place.

    Also, any rear-seat WeatherTech photos?

    * I believe the 2019 model year has lockdown tabs on the passenger side, but 2016-2018 MY's have none on the passenger side.

WT fitment is good on both sides. No issues. Lockdowns started on the 2018 models. Should have had them from jump street.

Thanks for confirming, and I agree...pretty stupid on Toyota's part to not include the passenger-side lockdowns.

On second thought, let me as you this then: since you have the lockdowns on your 2018, what do you think the fitment would be like if you didn't have them? How much of a "gap" is there between the hump/ridge underneath the seat to the upwards-slope of the foot area? If there weren't any lockdowns, would the WT floormat slide forward and backward?

Front to rear fitment is good, you wouldn't have any problem with rearward movement. However, WT fitment in the passenger side of my Camry is also good, but nonetheless the mat inevitably finds it's way forward and up do to passenger foot movement pushing it that direction. I'm confident the Tacoma would do the same without the tabs.

I have the weather techs but would have gotten the husky’s if I knew about them.

What don't you like about them, or this is just another case of "the grass is greener..." type of thing? They are indeed more expensive.

I ran WT's in my old Nissan Frontier, and they were solid. Never had a problem with them, but that's just what I'm used to. The only small gripe I had, was on occasion, my foot would catch the door-sill lip of the mat, and I would kind of trip up a bit. Happened maybe 3-4 times over the course of 6 years of WT ownership.

Im in the same boat as him. WT vs husky weather beaters are pretty much the same. The husky xact is of a little softer more "grippy" material that doesn't get as slick when they are wet or muddy.

I dont think you can go wrong with either and Im not looking to sell my WT's but if given the choice again. I'd do the husky xact.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a closer look at the X-act fits. At least both are made in the USA.

    I find the OEM Totoya
Weathertechs seem to be discussed often here, what's wrong with the OEM Tacoma mats? Had mine for about 10 months and perfectly happy with them.

The OEM's are ok, but set side by side with Weathertechs or Husky's and there is an immediate difference in quality as well as better forward protection on both the driver and passenger inner tunnel and outer kick panels.
My truck came with the OEM liners. I kept the one piece rear, but tossed the front two in favor of the WT's.

Judging by the cleanliness of yours, they're all you're ever going to need.
Liner needs on a case by case basis, I suppose..

    Fresh gas.

I got the mats for an auto trans (even though I have manual trans). Way better coverage on the trans tunnel for the auto weathertechs vs the manual ones. The dead pedal cover extends out a little but further - but doesn't interfere with my clutch foot.

No one usually rides in the passenger seat, thus so clean. Usually just me in driver's and grand kids in the rear.

If I lived in Virginia I would have never replaced the OEM mats, in fact I really like the rubber feel of the OEM over the Weathertechs that I purchased. I live in an area that gets a lot of snow through the year, and DPW crews that put just as much salt down as snow that falls. For me its about trapping the melted salt water that accumulates on my mats and then sloshes into the rug and floor boards. Weathertechs do a pretty good job but aren't perfect.

That OEM floormat is a night and day difference to the ones that I received. Yours looks like it actually fits well. Toyota must have heard the complaints and changed them for 2018-2019 model years. The locking tabs alone make it 100x better than previous years' rubber mats [passenger side]. Overall, if I could only upgrade one side, it would be the passenger side with a WeatherTech, Husky Xact, or 2018-2019 OEM but somehow install my own riveted lockdowns.
