Does anyone know if the caps that are carpet lined, is that actual carpet or a sprayed on product from the factory? I purchased a used Leer midrise that is just painted white fiberglass, but I really like the lined caps and was wondering if it's something that could be done aftermarket?

    It’s actually carpet

I personally didn’t want carpet but do plan on painting or bed liner the inside a dark grey or black

Might try a local dealer to see if they could order it for you but other than that I’d guess it’s not a pre cut piece. But rather a roll that’s adhesive in place and trimmed around the windows and folded over the lip

Sounds like a hard job, I thought about using colored bed liner, won't be much smoother that the painted fiberglass though.

I don’t care about trying to smooth it out, it’s already a rough texture. That was kinda the point of the bed liner. I wouldn’t use plasti dip but I have never used it either

The tech at the dealer told me about grizzly grip and that’s what he’d personally use but after reading on their site it’s mainly used for under carriage etc with a rubber/flexibility. I don’t think that’s absolutely necessary for my needs so I’ll just grab whatever bed liner

The carpet on caps is basically like trunk liner carpet or subwoofer box carpet. It's cheap to purchase by the yard and very easy to install using spray adhesive.
