My maps do not show the speed limit when just tracking.. but if it is in 'route' (giving you directions to a destination)mode it does... does anyone know how to make the speed limit show on just the main map page? 2022 DCSB OR without jbl

That's the standard function of the Google maps app that I don't believe can be changed. You'll notice the same issue if you're just looking at your phone and not connected to carplay.

Try Waze instead. It gives both the speed limit and your GPS measured speed next to each other. Great for figuring out how off the speedometer is. Plus it has an "alert other Waze users" function. You both receive and send alerts for traffic problems and police locations. On highways with enough traffic to have fellow Waze users it can be quite accurate and up to date for alerting you to police locations and traffic jams, wrecks and such. It works well on the Toyota screen.

Note: I'm using it through Apple Play.

The instrument cluster can be set to display the speed limit when on the compass screen also

Waze. It also lets users mark accidents and police speed traps to share with other users live.

So you’ve never been on the interstate or other multi lane roads where trucks etc block your view and you miss the speed limit signs when the limit changes….
    Lucky guy!

Google Maps does that too. But Waze is pretty neato.

Been using WAZE for years. It is the only crowd sourced information app I use. I was told about it by a friend who worked in law enforcement and they didn’t like it when it came out. Just be careful it only works when others report accidents or speed traps. If you are the only user on your map slow down to the speed limit.

Oddly enough, Waze is owned by Google now. If only they would just merge the maps with it so there is only one product out.

Either way, I swear by Waze for the police and accident reporting on my daily commutes...

I actually didn't know this (and thought it would be a nice feature) - time to hit the manual...

+1 for Waze. Always shows limits and it's much friendlier with directions and alerts.

I use mine with Android Auto. No issues.
