    Howdy y’all,

I like my OEM Radio, especially for maintenance reminders. But I definitely would like to add CarPlay to the radio. A couple main reasons I want to stick with the OEM radio is I haven’t found any aftermarket radios that do maintenance reminders like the OEM radio. Also it’s hard to find a radio that will look good or have the same high quality build. I found a couple modules that looked decent, including a video demonstration of how one workS.

It seems like a decent workaround. What are your thoughts on these? Do they seem legit? Or a scam that may not last long?

Welcome to the forum. That’s way too expensive! You can replace the whole unit for that price.

I have had several radios in my SR. The factory SR one, the SR5 upgraded one, a Kenwood 905s and now the Alpine ILX-F309.

I like and use CarPlay. It is not worth $700. If that kit was $300, I would get one.

I am going to wait a year and pickup from a junkyard a 2020 tacoma radio with CarPlay and see if I like it.
