They should have followed your instruction and left the Billies at 0. Looks like you have over 4" of lift in the front?

My truck after the Dakars and 887's was 24.5 ish in the rear and 23.5ish in the front. 25 is too high. Never gonna get a good alignment with stock UCA's and that much lift. Can you post a pic of your cv angles and UCA angle?

Sure, I'll post up some CV boot pics when I get home from work. I have Camburg UCA's so I'm good there. That dealership has good prices on tires so I'm going back either today or tomorrow. While I'm there, I'll see if they can set em back to 0 and cut me a break on labor. I did originally say that I wanted an even stance or just a bit of rake. They tried to get me an even stance by setting them to .85. If it's too much, maybe I'll go to a local garage to see if they will do it cheaper.

Ask them to set it back to 0 for free. ;) Rake is better than bro-lean. Especially since the Dakars will settle. 4+ inches of lift in the front will cause issues.

Thanks for the input! It's nice having a second set of eyes looking at it; especially since you've already been through this. I'll measure everything the best I can on a level surface before I put her through surgery again. The more I look at it, the more I see you're right. With the cap on, it'll just get worse over time. Getting the tires tomorrow and the dealership said they can fix the shocks when they do the tires.

If I may make a suggestion: Try lowering your headliner and getting at the dents from the backside. Heat gun on the paint to soften it so it doesn't crack and some light hammer/dolly work and you should see some improvement. Just a suggestion. You can do this yourself and have the satisfaction of learning a new skill that may come in handy for you in the future.

I might try that. Little hesitant though since the PDR and autobody shop guys made it sound waaay harder. It sounded like neither of them wanted to touch it.

Some places will do that to upsell the project. If they make it sound difficult, they can justify what they charge for the labor involved. If you have ever been in an accident and read the written estimate for the labor, they charge $60 in labor just to remove plastic trim (that pulls right off). Of course it's worded differently. Just my $.02. Good luck. Sweet looking truck.

Thanks! Hope I can do those dents myself. They're next on the list.

Looks like I will be getting tires on Friday and the dealership said they can adjust the Billys to 0 on Monday.

I have the TRD SEMA PRO wheels so the 7" width kept me from getting 285's. I kept going back and forth between 265 70 r17's, 275 70 r17's and 255 80 r17's. I like that 265's come in load C. My truck feels pretty gutless compared to my old Silverado and previous WRX. I'm pretty sure if it feels gutless now, it will be worse with the larger diameter 255's. I like how 275's look, they fit within spec on 7" wide wheels, and I felt like it was a good compromise so I pulled the trigger on those. The 275's are load E so they'll probably be just as sluggish as the 255's haha. I might go with 255's later depending if I regear.

I wanted Cooper ST Maxx's but the BFG KO2's were cheaper and lift components/labor made me poor again for awhile. Plus they have a $50 rebate.

    As promised.

    Driver Side

    Passenger Side

Took all the old suspension parts out of the bed and remeasured center hub to fender again.

    Driver Front: 25"
    Driver Rear: 25"
    Passenger Front: 25"
    Passenger Rear: 24.5"

The driver side OME leaf has a (+) and the passenger leaf has a (-).

I think setting to 0 would be perfect.

Don't mind the scratches on the coil... that was me trying to get that sucker compressed.

Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to go with them set at 0. Your CV boots will thank you.

    Doin some cosmetic work today.

Took some design cues from RogueTRD and wedgemoose.

It's nice not having the antennae slapping the garage door every time I pull in.

I swear I find something else broken every time I look at this truck.

At least it's a quick and relatively cheap fix.

Tires! Thank god the 275's don't rub. Shrockworks needs to ship my sliders.

The cap is nice to have but I think it would look much better without it.

I spoke with the Toyota dealership about setting my front shocks to 0 in preparation for Monday. Through some breakdown in communication between the service manager and the installer, I found out that my Bills were actually set to 1.75 instead of .85

This makes sense since the fronts ended up being 25" hub to fender. Thing is, I don't really want to remove a leaf from my Dakars and I want about an inch of rake. Currently, I'm sitting pretty even all around at ~25" at every corner.

Option 1: Setting my Bills down to .85 with a full pack of Dakars should give me a little less than an inch of rake (25-.85=24.15" for fronts). The only problem that remains would be that I would have slightly more than a 3" lift in the front which is like crossing the streams if I understand correctly because of bad CV angles. If the 885's give ~2.5" lift, then 2.5+.85= 3.35" lift in the front.

Option 2: I could set my struts to 0 which would lower my front end to 23.25". With his setup, I would probably end up removing the top overload on my Dakars which would set the rear to 24.5" giving me 1.25" of rake.

Leaning towards option 1 since I'm getting sliders, a plate steel rear bumper, and a DTF Type C bumper eventually:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dezert-toy-fabrication-prerunner-bumpers.306101/

This bumper doesn't look like it would add a ton of weight but it might drop the front a 1/4". I'll be moving my CV boots over a bit to take care of fins touching. Just hope I can get rid of my vibrations at 60mph with option 1.

I get one more chance with this dealership to get my shocks adjusted for free. After that, I'm on my own. if nothing else, I can post pics and measurements at .85 to help anybody else considering this setup.

Top plate spacer and 885's, plus Billies set to 0 will give you right at 3" :) or 887's as I originally did with my truck. If you go check out the first page of my build, you'll see what my truck looked like right after the Dakars and 887's. I was right at 1" of rake.
