What I am actually very curious about is if the 3rd gens are using the same driveshaft that our 2nd gens are. If they are, that means the carrier bearing and all related hardware is the same including the ID of the bearing itself of 1.181". If that is the case, even 3rd gen dude's can get in on the action here, and on the feeler GB also.

3rd gens use a different CB. Not sure if its the same ID but its a bigger OD cb for sure (also feels slightly stiffer too).

Lol. Due which are you going to stick with, stock or this one?

The pricing on this bearing immediately bought is $125 plus the tax if you are a california resident and shipping.

Your posts made me lol is all :D

Well I'm not sure what they will lower the pricing on the group buy. I was running a feeler for a group buy because there was a high demand to attempt to do one. Normally it's 125 before tax. I have no idea what I paid for it at the time after tax and shipping kind of because I don't care. Lol.

This WILL work on a first gen prerunner with the slip yoke, ask me how I know....:Dit will also work on the 1st gen doublecab with short bed too, any first gen with slip yoke rear two piece driveshaft is a candidate, nice they didn't change bearing specs all these years....

Previously I just injected sillycone into a cheap aftermarket bearings, let it dry, then install, however, this is the way to go, hands down...and it is just slightly more expensive than a real good aftermarket bearing....bar across the bearing bottom (top when installed) is imperative, must be done or you will experience problems..

Hey, 12TRDTacoma, nevermind my location, I just recently moved back to Cali, working and living in SF now....just changed my profile location....these trucks are basically bulletproof, but you gots to figure out the quirks, once done, they are great...

So maybe I'm missing it or just not understanding... What exactly would have to be done for this to fit a DCSB? Saw a comment that this works perfectly on the DCLB.

It will work exactly the same as the DCLB in the original post.

The difference would come if you want to mount the driveshaft at the same position as the stock cb (vertically in the frame). The DCSB / AC has a slightly different crossmember that allows an extra mounting option of above the stock location.

See my picture in the group by thread.

Is there any benefit to the other location?

Its really all about driveline angles. The added drop of this Ford CB is beneficial for those who have lifts to get driveline angles closer to proper. But on a stock height truck the drop would probably be detrimental to vibrations induced by improper driveline angles.

AKA, it depends on the truck and the trucks configuration. Its not hard to play around with mounting height, and if you are capable of pulling the driveshaft out and getting it to a place that can put the CB on... you are capable of figuring out how to mount it up.

Thanks for that information. I currently am not running a lift, but plan to in the next year or so. Also I would have no idea what I'm doing with the driveline.
