I have read everything I could find on here about the c.b. And I'm as confused as ever. Some have said get stock replacement. one for a ford is best. get a cheap one shoot silicone into it. The angle on drive shaft is wrong , need to figure out shims to put in. Anyway I have a 2008 dcsb trd sport 4x4. Not sure if I need one , It does have what seems to me more movement than it should. Plus I have a noise coming from somewhere. What kind of noise would it make if it was bad? This is a sound kind of like a cupped tire, definitely rotating . So if someone could point me in the right direction on diagnosing and what is best fix, I would appreciate it. I know figuring out thing online is near impossible . I guess more than anything would like to know what the best replacement option is?

best thing is go under neath and shake the driveshaft. If it moves side to side easily then you most likely need to change it. Mine makes a rubbing/grinding noise, but its a cheap napa replacement.
The oem is best…I had mine for 140k miles. the napa one lasted me about 8k miles and I replaced it again less than a year ago and it went out again between 3-5k miles.
I think I'm going to fill the napa one with polyurethane. we use that same shit to make honda motor mounts.

converting to a ford style I heard is strong, but didn't really look into it last time I needed to change it…

I haven't changed mine but the ID on the bearing would help if someone had a micrometer and a bearing laying around.

a Ford Ranger CB from the early 90's has the same ID. It is a different style and you will need to make a drop bracket due to the different mounting location.
