So I have a 2018 tacoma with a 3 in leveling kit. I have really bad vibration all over truck. I was told the carrier bearing needed to be replaced due to have excessive play in it. I was told that my tires were worn uneven and I needed to replace which I could tell that needed to be replaced. I was told that if you replace carrier bearing, you must re-balance drive shaft. Is that correct? I have also been told that was not the case and I should be fine just replacing the carrier bearing. Any information would be helpful.

Driveshaft should be marked before disassembly and reassembled correctly. Correct orientation of Ujoints and splines is important. That said, you should be ok unless you lost the welded on balance weights.

    Ur vehicle not very old

    U dont mention mileage...................????

improper installation of lift kit could be the issue more so than carrier bearing

no less it depends on if reassembled properly

    FEW

ANY issues after modifucations invarably point towards that event

worn tyres will cause as much an issue as the driveshaft / carrier bearing

bearing installed properly DOES NOT require new shaft

front to back usually the factory get it right !!!!

a matter of timing & balance

    * tip :

before taking uni joints front / rear or disasembling middle carrier

    use white.........red ........blue paint ( does NOT take a lot ! )

paint all components on each juncture...............along each phase same color

white at front uni....carrier.....rear SAME PASE !!

    rotate paint red same way.........................

when reassembly U cant go wrong hooking up wrong ‘ Phase '

    X2 what @ROAD DOG said:thumbsup:
    AND
The difference between 3" lift and "3" leveling kit" is leveling front 3" can cause front alignment issues/tire wear.
3" lift can cause alignment issues/tire wear plus driveshaft vibration due to increased DS angles.

Lifts are detrimental and don't add Axle clearance.
Looking COOL ain't worth all the problems lifts create.
