I’ve been thinking very hard about dodge rams. Had a 2500 rental for couple weeks and the ride was good and power was unbelievable. Granted I’d not be buying a 3/4 ton because don’t need it but they are nice. And holy crap at the room in them which is the most appealing part of all for hauling my wife and 3 kids around. They’re outgrowing the taco faster than I’d imagine.

I'm not impressed with my other truck a 2019 f150 with 8k for miles. The dash has warped, the wind noise is something else, the door gaps are awful, the a/c vents are trash very little for adjustability and the base audio system is awful. The 2014 f150 it replaced was a much better truck

No utility package, the regular AC (painted bumpers, rear seats, keyless entry). I know Carvana's quotes are regional, my region isn't nearly as expensive as some so their offer is a bit less. Of course, I also paid about $5k less than some other regions.

MPG difference between Tacoma and Ridgeline is negligible. Ridgeline is in danger of being dropped by Honda because it competes against SUVs (mainly Honda SUVs); not trucks. Heard the Alabama plant is idled.

yeah, coming from a Tacoma, they are massive. A big selling point was the 6 hour trip we took with the 3 year old and 5 month old recently. My wife can sit between the car seats in the ram and entertain the monsters when they start losing it 3 hours in, with the Tacoma or her Santa Fe, all we could do is let them scream.

I’ve never owned anything with a v8 before, so not much for frame of reference, but the first time I got into the ram a little just to see, the words “holy shit” definitely came out of my mouth. Electric Motor torque assist from a stop, 400 hp and 3.92 gears, it’s going to take some getting used to, and hopefully a minimal amount of speeding tickets.

after having my Tacoma for 6 months I drove my father in-laws tundra and was chirping the tires everywhere lol. Those big v8’s feel like you don’t need to push the pedal down farther than 1/8” to get where you’re goin.

I too have never owned a v8 and know nothing about the new tech with electronics in the drive train. Would be interesting to test drive.

I don't know I think the blacked out Rebels are pretty sweet, I wouldn't pay $50k for one, but $45k would have me thinking about it.

Consider the Powerwagon if you want a gasser. It’s a gas 2500 but built a little more for adventure. 410 HP, fits 37” tires stock, locked front and rear. My other half bought his 2016 Christmas of 2015 and ran it like a beast until we got a new 2500 diesel this year. The back seats are super comfy, I’ve slept back there quite a bit. I liked the power of his truck so I ended up with a Tundra last year. It was great, a little less power but that Toyota reliability.... It was great until he got the new diesel. The upgraded interior of the Ram made my 2016 tundra look 20 years old in comparison. I’ve since went to another vehicle. If we didn’t tow a camper, we would’ve upgraded his 2016 to a newer Powerwagon as the upgraded trans was pretty nice and noticeable and the interior improvements were solid. Sold the old lady private party with 50k miles and not a single issue. New owner loves it.

Fun fact: when I plug in the diesels info Into Carvana, for shits and giggles, it breaks their algorithm and won’t give me an offer. I joked that it happens because a full size truck won’t fit in their vending machine.

    So some info on Carvana.
(They are publicly traded so some financial data is out there).

    1. They make on average about $2800 per car. This is higher than Carmax evidently.
    2. They sold about 160,000 cars last year.
    3. To break even they probably need to sell about $500,000 or more.

One of the deals about them paying more right now as well for Tacomas (and possibly other cars) is that this is also a marketing for them. A couple weeks ago I didn't hear of Carvana until I saw it on a Facebook Tacoma page. But due to the "word of mouth" now I know about it and I also typed in my other vehicle for quote purposes.

Another added piece. They are making a push to go direct to consumer for purchasing to grow their sales numbers. It's a fight to get hands on cars and by buying direct from consumers they are increasing their margins over purchasing at an auction. I always assumed auctions were cheaper, but evidently that isn't the case when compared to what people typically get for trade in.

I think they have a shot.

Oh, and Carmax evidently is a giant.
    They make good money.

Same, IL was crap compared to some of these guys/gals offers, $38k for my loaded 2020 3k miles. But then again Tacos aren't really popular here.

Midwest (MN) market is bad, I know my access cab isn't as desirable but for my 2018 SR5 4x4 with 24k miles they only offered $27,500. Looks like some other people are getting right around the same offers for SR 2.7 2WD's! If they bump the offer to $30k the truck will likely be gone... Hardly drive anymore working from home so GF and I would be fine sharing a vehicle.

My 2015 altima 2.5 sv did same. Would never recommend anyone buying that model. Transmission replaced before 65k and ac replaced also. Still has weird issues.

Maybe its a regional thing, my local Ford Dealer only has 11 F-150's with the least expensive 2.7 at $42K after discounts.

Supposedly with COVID, a lot less Tacos are being churned out, driving down supply, which is probably increasing their resale value.

Same here Chevy and Ford lots are thin with trucks and no usual big discounts.
