luckily I’m in charge of purchasing our work vehicles, and I’ve bought a dozen minivans off the same salesman in the last 2 years. I don’t think anyone out there could have got a better deal on that truck. Wouldn’t have even considered it otherwise.

    Almost two years of depreciation?

    $747.00 or a whopping $35.60/per month...Not bad, eh? ;-)

Could of sold and made a profit on all 4 offers, BUT never could find what I was looking for. Either a Gen2 or Gen 3 OFF-ROAD access cab in mint condition, can forget finding a new one either. This is my 8th or 9th Toyota going back to 1985 and this one is my favorite besides the 85. Found out I’m going to be a grandpa so need the back seat now anyways

Ditto, was looking for maybe a way to move back into a 2nd gen for a bit but nothing out there or overpriced, I'm happy with my 2020 and can more than afford it, just would be nice to have little or no payment and one less weight in a world that is constantly filled with unknowns right now. Guess I'll keep her for awhile.

I'll be a registered BSN in just a few months and have had some DOD contractor agencies trying to get me to take some jobs for my former AF job, but still just not feeling great about everything and what the job outlook will be for me in a few months, we shall see, but ya no worries just enjoy the taco and hope for the best.

Yep. I had a brief foray into full size land in 2014, within 4 months I was back to a Tacoma.

Agree! I’ve noticed that the 2020 model Tacoma’s throttle response is 100% better, I believe Toyota tuned them differently from earlier models.

Honestly, that was a really big draw for me on the 2020s; all the peeps saying how much better their ‘20 drove. But then there were the half dozen items they’ve removed between ‘18 and ‘20, and of course the mods I’d have to remove. And the mods I’d have to redo. And giving up Inferno. And the additional 6-12 months of note. And, and, and.... so I just played ‘what if’ on the websites and decided to stick it out. The long hold was my original plan anyways.

I did the same with my Cayman. Bought it for the long hold and the new cayman drops with the 4.0L so I drool. Then I come to my senses and realize I already have it pretty good.

My Carvana offer two weeks ago was around $39,200 For a 2019 Trd sport 4x4. I was seriously considering it but couldn’t find a replacement. I was looking for a 2020 Tundra as a replacement and stock has been limited due to covid. Some Tundras recently popped up in SoCal so I pulled the trigger today.
Carvana offer is around $38,000 today but my local dealer is willing to beat that offer and came in at $38,500. Not bad considering I got my Tacoma for a little over $37,000 out the door last year.
I will miss the Tacoma, except for the drive train.

If you traded in your Taco on the Tundra, first congrats! Second, the dealer didn't beat Carvana ;-) He buried the $500 (and probably more) into the price of the new truck and, if you are in a sales tax state you probably got an additional benefit amount to offset the sales tax.

If, on the other hand, you didn't trade, but the dealer actually wrote you out a check for $38,500 then they did beat Carvana.

There is a huge difference between what a dealer will write a check out for and and what they will "give" you in trade.
Regional rebate around here is $2,500 on a Tundra right now with super low financing and leases. Like $341/mo w/$2999 down leases....Tempting!

Sold my 4runner to Carvana last night. The tacoma stays as I like it and they didn't offer anywhere near what they did for the 4runner. Took all of 3 minutes to get the check and sign the paperwork in my driveway. Only bad thing was they are buying so many vehicles in this area that they had to come back later to pick up the 4runner on the flat bed. A local garage showed up around 9:30 to get it, so it looked like I was getting repo'd.

Finally sold off my wife's POS 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee (long story, don't buy one lol) and was shocked to get the offer I did from Carvana. I ended up getting the local guy who sold me the taco last month to raise his offer and match Carvana's, but they came in $2500 more than anybody else. For shits and giggles I entered in my 2019 TRD Off Road with 20K miles I just bought and the offer wasn't great- $32K. I can't believe they'd offer so much for that crappy jeep and then a below average (for around here atleast) on the taco.

My nephews pos car they said they'll give $100 for it. We would get more use and fun out of it entering it in a demolition derby.

With all the uncertainty in the world I’d rather have a reliable truck than an extra grand in my pocket.

If we get into Civil War at least all of us who kept our Tacoma’s will be prepared

True, but Carvana put an extra $24,719 in my pocket, well more accurately, it deposited it directly in my checking account. Just got notified!

If I wanted to, a new Tundra SR5 4x4 is leasing around here for only $341/mo with $2999 down. Tempting! Would give me a pretty reliable truck and I'll still have $20k left for ammo ;-)

If you are really interested in leasing you should get in touch with Mike at Boston Car Concierge, he helped me lease my Tacoma for an amazing price. You can find his business in Facebook and message him through there.

    But it’s not “your” truck.

only way I’ve ever found leasing beneficial is if you are so well off you can afford to throw tens of thousands of dollars away every 3 years (or can sleep at night doing so), or you want a vehicle with high maintenance costs or has sketchy reliability after 40,000 miles.

And after three years that $24,000 will be $9000 and you won’t even have a truck to show for it

Could be Carvana's motive to acquire the supply of Tacomas.
