Never put that much money down on a lease. Your monthly payments may be lower, but you just threw $2,999 into the dealers pocket. The rough estimate is your monthly payment increases/decreases by $20 for every $1000 you put down or don't put down. Rough math, if you put $0 down, your monthly would increase by ~$60. So multiply that by a standard 36 month lease and that equals $2160. By not putting money down, you just saved yourself ~$839.
From a person who has leased many German cars, I don't want to start a lease vs buy discussion, it's your choice. Just trying to help those who lease not get ripped off.

Sorry to get off the Carvana topic

Agree. Multiple security deposits is the way to go if you ever want to lease...Which I don't do..

Being a current Model S owner, good luck with Elon and his timelines. Hopefully when the Cybertruck is released they get their QA issues fixed.

I'm near the head of the line....and my number is 133,000 something...lots more than 50,000 people. Probably 90 percent or more will bail and not take delivery so I'm hoping to move up even more. Tesla is building the tri motor trucks first, so maybe it will actually be here next Sept..

What does the inflated TSLA stock have to with getting new models delivered on-time and in acceptable condition?

    The point:

His stock is setting record highs, and he doesn’t give a fuck about your timeline.

Doubtful, but when you are on the bleeding edge and paying (relative) pennies for being an early adopter who cares about body panel fitment ;-)

Gimme 14,000 lbs towing capacity and a 500 mile solo range...not to mention it will put an Audi R8 V-10 Performance model on the trailer in a drag

That is good enuff stuff for me ;-)

I think you missed the point. He doesn’t care about your timeline, my timeline or any other assholes timeline.

    I’m not a fanboy.

He’s making a lot of money, so I highly doubt his biggest concern is meeting a due date

He's actually not making a lot of money off Tesla. Tesla just recently started turning a profit, they have razor thin margins. That's why they take deposits so they can fund building their new models.

The deposit is $100 on a $70k truck, that is fully refundable.

He’s doing things that no one has ever done before, he has to make sure there is some interest, right?

Not like he has his hands in space travel or anything... oh wait

If I had bought Tesla stock instead of my SR Taco on November 22, 2018 right now I would be sitting on about 78 shares or
    $156,000 ....

    Instead, I lost $747....

    And, I was Series 7 licensed :-(

If there is anything I learned from my MBA it was to never think of stocks like that, cause you will always end up depressed

I did end up calling and they said they were missing a daily interest number. The person on the phone fixed it with me on hold and i started getting emails saying it was fixed and asking me to set up a drop off appointment. The person on the phone then hung up with out ever taking me off of hold. Good offers for our trucks but terrible customer service.

I'm getting 500 dollars more than i paid for my 2018 sr5 with 29k miles and upgrading to a 2020 trd sport
