Tesla's profits are not the product itself, but the regulatory credits and creative accounting. The PE is now north of 1200 which shows how dumb the market is right now

The difference is crazy sometimes. If it was worth it to you to get 2-$3000 more Maybe you could drive 600 miles drop it off then use some of that money to get a plane ticket home.

Around here too, but my wife's completely locked up on us and had to be dragged onto a flatbed, towed to the dealership where they worked on it for 2 months. Didn't even have 40K miles yet. Wouldn't start but wouldn't turn off, wouldn't go into gear but car said it wasn't in park. All lights flashing, just wouldn't do a damn thing. Had to replace the battery (which isn't a big deal but it's under the passenger seat for some reason?), valve body, oil accumulator, bunch of fuses and sensors. Luckily all under warranty still just barely. Just glad I was able to sell it and not be upside down. I've owned A LOT of vehicles, and never had one strand me before without warning like that.

For sure, sis had an 06 with that transmission that was supposed to recognize the need for AWD or not, gigantic hunk of crap. What's the wife got now?

The Tacoma I just bought lol. She's daily driving my Tacoma for awhile. She stays home with the kiddo and barely does 1000 miles a year, and I have a company car. She'll likely go back to work in the next year or so, and I told her she can pick out whatever vehicle she wants....as long as its a Toyota 4Runner

That's what I told my GF at the time when she wanted to upgrade from a Corolla, she was looking at CRV, RAVs and I brought home a 4runner one day and was like this, she now drives a barcelona red off road, she'll never use it but at the time I was thinking if we do get hitched of course I want this in the stable.

Did not read the entire thread but I just sold my 2020 for 1k more than I bought it for and it had 8000 miles on it. Dealerships don’t have many Tacoma’s so they are paying premium. They had 0. My buddy works at the dealership and said they are pretty much sold when they get them now.

When I bought mine the same dealer had about 20 trucks on the lot.

Also this will change soon so I wouldn’t delay if you are thinking about trading it in.

I know most on here are not looking to get rid of their truck. To me they paid me to drive the truck for a year.

This might only last a couple more weeks at these prices.

Best option is if you could sell now, and then wait to buy until December. December prices will be down.

Doubtful dealer / regional manager friend says allocations are still scarce. It’s gonna be awhile before inventory meets demand.

CarMax gave me $41k for my 2020 OR and just listed it at $46k. I don't see how it could possibly sell for $2k over MSRP?

I agree with those saying this is a temporary price fluctuation. As inventory builds back up, I fully expect pricing/deals to go back to "normal."

People will buy it because they don't have to step into a dealership.
I know people who won't even answer a phone call anymore.
The ability to order a car and have it delivered without socializing at all is worth a couple thousand to some people.

Had my 2019 for nearly 2 years, 20k miles, and they offered what I paid for it!
    Thinking about doing it.

I guess the used car market is like the stock-market, all sorts of stupid in the world today.

Funny how different regions are, they offered me $38k for same truck, loaded $45k MSRP OR in Cement, 3k miles.

Some people have no patience and have to have it now, regardless of over paying.
