No, online quote, made an appointment an hour later. It was so fast, I paused for a second to make sure I wanted to do it.

Wow! Their system must not be able to process such a new vehicle. I checked Vroom this morning for my 2019 Tacoma OF 4x4 with tech package and 12K miles on it and they offered me 40K. Which is $800 more than they offered me a couple of weeks ago.

I'm responding to Uscolt45 post who said their 21 TRD Pro was only offered 35K from Vroom which is very low when I can get 40K on my non-pro. So, their system must have difficultly providing accurate numbers on the 2021 model year. I would expect a 2021 Pro would get more than my 2019 OF 4x4. I do agree with Vroom offering more. They are about 2K more in their offer vs Carvana. It's very tempting to sell my truck for 40K but I love it so much.

Just plugged my 2020 pro into Vroom and got an offer of $50,899. Incredible.

    Whoa, that’s awesome!

I just tinkered and received an offer of $48,219. Not so incredible. 2,600 miles, auto, blah blah blah. I think zip or region plays a pretty big part on the offer.

One of my local dealers has a LR Pro automatic that someone traded after only 3000 miles. They have it listed a 48,900.

Here are the stats on my 2020 4unner, purchased brand new for 44k otd (taxes title all fees included) has 14k miles
    Carvana offered 40,400
    Vroom 41,600
    Get me the vin 41,000
Carmax 42,600 (which is insane because a few months ago with about 5k less miles they only offered 36k)

Just ran my 19 TRD 4x4 ORSB automatic 15,500 miles. Heavily optioned, Original Sticker $43,132. Premium and Tech packages, OEM Tonneau cover, TRD skid plate etc. I payed $38,000 + taxes and fees for an out the door price of $41,100.

    Carvana $36919
    Vroom $40771
    Carmax $40400
If I trade it in on something in stock there's also a $3000+ tax credit at Carmax. Tempting as I still have my original owner 2000 Tacoma SR5 v6 4x4 with 166k miles.

If you're getting a crazy trade-in value, you gotta understand that means you'll be paying more to buy something new or used as well. Good deal if you're selling only, not so good if you're selling just to buy something else.

If you're buying a sedan you can still make out. Those prices aren't nearly as over inflated as trucks/suv's are right now.

I’m in the same boat, I still got the 99’ collecting dust. I wouldn’t mind selling the taco at a profit and waiting till the prices on a tundra drop.

I realize values are super inflated on the New and Used vehicles now. Smart thinking says take Carmax's offer and put the money in the bank and still use my 00 Tacoma 4x4 for towing and 4wheeling. $700 less than I payed for it and 15,500 miles 18 months later is quite the offer. That would be the common sense thing to do. In 6 months maybe cars will return to pre Covid pricing.

hiimbrando I hear you. My 19 has way more features and rides better/safer in every way.

The 00 has a topper and 6 foot bed so we can sleep in it. It also has sentimental value to me, been tons of places and lots of great adventures made in it

I work on Savannah hwy. it always surprises me how much Tacomas go for in Charleston. (Toyotas in general) If I was in the market to buy a Tacoma right now, I wouldn't. I thought I paid too much back in 2017... It's crazy right now, used buyers are really out here paying more than new...

I definitely wouldn’t mind driving the 99’ taco while pocketing the cash from selling my 2017 taco. Dealer mark ups on used tundras are ridiculous as of now.

Have any of you sold your Truck to Vroom? There offer was over $5k more than Carvana. Only concern is that they pick up the truck and it takes 2-3 days b4 you get the funds transfered. I have not tried carmax yet.

Any good or bad experiences with the sale?

I havent used any of those services myself but I read some reviews of people who did and in some cases it took weeks for them to get paid with Vroom. Vroom also charges a $599 transport fee to have it halled to Texas where there located.

Used Tacomas are going for crazy prices in these parts also. I can expect to sell my low mileage 2011 Taco for about 6K less than I paid for it. Had it in for a recall and dealer asked if I wanted to trade it. I commented there were no Tacos on the lot. He then offered to buy it. Half tempted to sell it private and wait for something new to become available.
