    It's a great time t
It's a great time to sell and a bad time to buy . I could sell mine and get a 21 for around 7 thousand dollars but my truck is fine with only 28,000 miles and no reason to throw the money away when I can run it for 10 more years . I've had that itch before but like this 17 so much I don't have it at all now .

....^^^... I am not as worried about a housing crash that started in 2008 ... there might be a drop later, but not as dramatic.

I am much more concerned when we have to pay on this gigantic national debt from all this spending .... and add to that increasing interest rates on the national debt means our payments on the national debt could possible double from 2019.

The National Debt is almost $226,000.00 per taxpayer now ... .... look at our increase in DEBT to GDP RATIO ... only since only 2000 ...:eek::eek:

Click on the NATIONAL US-DEBT-CLOCK LINK below for lots of details where YOUR money goes ... :spending:

Update on my experience with Vroom so far (not done yet!). Their offer was the best out of the local dealers, CarMax and Carvana. I accepted their price of $40,349, uploaded pictures of my title, loan release paper, ID, Odometer, etc. I digitally signed the seller & buyer agreement that I am selling to Vroom for $40,349. I then received via FedEx overnight a physical document to sign and at this point required I sign my title (name and signature only). Received via DocuSign fully signed seller/buyer agreement with authorized Vroom signatures as well. Sent this back the same day and was received at their TX location the next morning.

This is where my experience starts to go downhill. After they received my signed title their communication went completely dark. No email telling me it was received and they are reviewing it or anything. I wait two days to allow them to process it. Still nothing. I call into their support. The call center associate didn't know what to do and first told me its on hold as they're re-evaluating my price. This triggered me as I have a signed and agreed upon contract with a set price already. They then tried to transfer me to a different department for more information. I was on hold for 15+ minutes and had a call for work so I had to drop. Sent an email asking for the status instead. Waited three more days for an email or call about scheduling pickup. Nothing. Called in this morning (5/16/21) and was transferred around but finally got to someone. They told me there was a 14 day waiting period (their policy) on the title due to it being issued recently. Would been nice to been communicated that vs being in an unknown land for over a week + at the time of this conversation it was actually three days past their 14-day policy period. The nice lady on the phone said she is putting in the request to move forward with scheduling the pickup. She estimated 3-4 business days more to arrange pickup. I still feel confident this will be completed but it might be 2-3+ weeks overall before this transition is fully complete.

Update 5/21/21: After escalating with Vroom over the weekend to my surprise, Monday 5/17/21 they sent me an email that Acertus has been assigned to pick up the truck. Vroom said they will be contacting me in 2-3 days to pick up the truck. Waited all week and no communication from Acertus. Called Acertus 3 times for some kind of update. I waited on hold for 10+ minutes and each time their system would tell me no one is available and the call would end. Called Vroom to escalate again...and Vroom tells me Acertus is still looking for a driver and likely get a call early to mid next week. What a joke!

Note: They have a 250 mile limit on the vehicle and anything over would void the price/contract. I have another vehicle to use but if this was your only vehicle and it takes 3+ weeks that could become difficult to stay under the 250 mile limit.

Texas Direct Auto and Vroom are one of the same now, checkout their reviews. IMO, they are just pumping up their stock. Could be wrong, has anyone here sold to them yet ?

Looked at a Lexus a couple years back at Texas Direct Auto, place was crazy packed, cars forever in the sales lot and the reviews were so so.

Checkout the Vroom reviews and stories on Yelp, it might scare you, lol.

Yeah, I'm starting to regret using Vroom. Most reviews seemed overall positive but this has been pretty stressful being in the unknown. CarMax has increased their price since I started with Vroom and is now only about 1K difference. I have a CarMax 5 miles away from me. Starting to think I should have just done that. Although, an extra 1K (when I started was $1,749 difference) is a decent amount. It's their communication channels that need work. I would felt better if they just sent me an email saying, "Hey we received your title and it looks good. Please give us 3-5 days to finalize the next steps" For me, though it not over and I really hope this was the worst of it and there no delays with the check (once I finally get them to pick up the truck). The support women I spoke with mentioned due to the amount they're paying for the truck that they couldn't do a direct transfer and must be a paper check. Which I told her was frustrating as they offered me a direct transfer option during the process of signing papers/accepting their offer and they obviously knew the amount at that stage. So why offer to link my bank account for quick payment to me if it only supports 10K or less?

They seem to overpay for vehicles to build up their inventory and likely running at a loss right now to grow market share (Amazon model). I still think all this will work out but they need to seriously improve the customer experience. I work in product development and work all day thinking about customer experiences. These issues should have been something they thought of from a product service perspective a long time ago...

If you still have the truck and have read the reviews, I would stop the process ASAP. The stories on Yelp are crazy !

Today is the highest I've seen for my 2018 OR with 45k miles. I think Vroom is right at my OTD price of 3.5 years ago.

Still have the truck but they have my signed title. I might be able to demand they send my title back. There are many horror stories on yelp for sure. Most are similar to my experience with poor communication and delays. If I continue with Vroom I'll need to adjust my expectations on the time it takes for everything. They told me the next steps on coordinating pickup of the truck would happen early to mid-next week. I expect now that will take 1-2 weeks to actually happen and then another week or more to receive the check. So 4-5 weeks total to sell it but get an extra $1,500 or so for the hassle.

It would be obviously nice to get this done and check quickly. I have another car to drive and the truck will just sit in the garage for a while longer. If I had the choice to start over, I likely would just have done CarMax. I'm not using this money to buy another vehicle soon (will likely buy a new Taco once this craziness goes back to normal). So at the end of the day, this sucks with delays but they are a real company and will pay for the truck (although it will be delayed). I might eat my words but I'm still hopeful this will work out.
