While i returned to my dock the other day a carvarna car stop to ask if was interested in selling my truck after they saw it in my driveway parked near the road...they estimated i'd get a few hundred more than i originally bought it for. Told them no. She gave me here card to call if i reconsidered. Today i get a post card in my mail box asking the same.

Vroom offered me more than Carvana, but I’ve read some bad stuff about Vroom. I would trust Carvana more.

For me I ended up trading in my 2017 Tacoma DCLB for 32k with my dealer. I saved tax money on my new 4Runner. I paid 35k for it in 2017. They listed it for 36k on their website. :)

My current Vroom offer is 6k more than my Carvanna offer. Both are lower now though from previous offers. I just crested 60k and wonder if I have crossed a price point threshold, or the market is coming down. Maybe both.

My Vroom offer is still more than I paid for my truck in Dec of '16, so the market is still wonky of course.

They do take forever, it took over a month for me. Sent docs for processing last week, processed a few days ago and received payment yesterday. Still have the truck though and they haven’t followed up about picking it up

Carvana and vroom offer for my '16 trd or access cab with 57k miles is about $24k. Seems low relative to what I have seen others posting but I suspect access cabs are in much less demand.

Vroom offered the most, but first wants to pick up the truck inspect it, and then either pay the agreed price or pay less if they say something was wrong. If you don’t like the offer then it’s up to you to get the vehicle back.

That price seems low, I agree.

Any accidents, repairs, mods etc.? Service record?

Based on my recent experience, Carvana seems willing to pay a premium for vehicles with a clean, documented record and low mileage.

Sold my one owner 19 Tacoma TRD, 4 door 4x4 fully loaded (premium package, technology package, tonneau cover, TRD skid plate etc.) with 15,900 miles to Carmax about a month ago. They gave me Thousands more than Carvana,Vroom, Autonation and 3 local dealers in my area. I paid $38,000 + Co State and local city tax and registration for an out the door price of 41,100. The truck stickered for $43,130 before $1500 rebate and negotiations. Bought it Halloween day 2019. Carmax gave me $43200 for it, basically paying me $84 a month to drive it for the last 25 months. Carmax is asking $46,998 for it Used 2019 Toyota Tacoma in Denver, Colorado | CarMax
I never sold my 2000 Tacoma SR5 V6 XC 4x4 which I also bought new so I still have a great truck. It's a 5 speed stick too.

No, it's in great shape. Only real mod is TRD Sema 4-runner wheels. I have very detailed full service records. If I really want to sell it I would try it on my own before taking the prices I was quoted. Would be interesting to see what an identical double cab would be offered.

I was curious to see what something similar to yours was selling for from Carvana in my market. A 2016 TRD Sport Access Cab was selling for $32k.

Carvana just listed my car for $3k above my sell price. Which was still like $3k above what anyone else was offering and at the high end of private sale estimates. Not sure how that will work out, but if a buyer wants to pay several grand for delivery, cleaning, and certification, good on them.

There are differences in markets, but if Carvana could potentially be selling for $8k above what they pay for it, sounds like a dealership-style lowball offer.

Carmax quoted me at about $31k. So about $7k more than carvana or vroom. I paid cash for the truck when I bought it in October of '15 and I think I paid $34k for it but don't know if I am remembering correctly.

    going to be fun!
According to a July 30th complaint filed with the U.S. District Court of Colorado in Adams County and reviewed by FOX Business, buyer Dennis Atencio paid $300 down and financed over $22,000 with loan servicer Acceptance Corp. to purchase a white 2019 GMC Terrain from Carvana on Dec. 18, 2020.
The complaint states that a repossession company called Anytime Towing showed up at Atencio's front door on June 23, 2021, to take the vehicle out of his driveway. After Atencio explained to the repossession agent that he was up-to-date on his payments to Bridgecrest, he learned that the vehicle was being repossessed on behalf of Hertz Corporation. The complaint accused Hertz of civil theft and trespass to chattel, or use of property without permission of the owner.

On July 29, 2021, Atencio was notified by the Denver Sheriff Department that the vehicle was impounded on July 22 and on a hold from police in Memphis, Tennessee. A Memphis International Airport police report obtained and reviewed by FOX Business revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Hertz on May 6, 2020, several months before Atencio purchased it. A Hertz spokesperson told FOX Business that it was aware of the situation and was investigating. A CarFax vehicle history report disclosed an odometer reading in Long Beach, California, on May 5, 2020. It also revealed that multiple titles had been opened on the car prior to Atencio's purchase. Atencio was able to recover the vehicle on Aug. 9 after showing his title and the CarFax report. He proceeded to order a vehicle inspection on Aug. 12.

This should be fun to watch

So... how log before Carvana and like go under? :boom:

I was just watching a video of their delivery service dropping cars they were unloading or picking up, not to mention that they are priced $2,000-$18,000 above new car prices from what I have seen locally. :notsure::lalala:
