    Thanks for the head's up! I'm going to go check them out today.

    **Edited with follow-up**

    Just got back from visiting with Andy from RockBox trailers in Salinas:

    http://www.rockboxoffroad.com/

    He has a few CVT tents set up to check out at his showroom, along with other cool things like his off-road trailers. Just an all-around incredible guy who was more than willing to take time out of his day to answer all my questions.

    @Cascadia Tents

    Bobby I have a question for you and I know several other people on the forum have been asking;

    Can you fold the annex of a Mt Bachelor up with the tent and still have it all secured with the cover so rain and dirt doesn't get in? I have now seen several videos online where people have done this. I understand with a Shasta and other models with the additional overhang it may be more difficult but I feel like it could be a big selling point for that model. Would be great to get your take on this.

    Thanks!

    I keep my annex attached on my mt bachelor. But I've heard that most are unable to do that for some reason.

    I'm in the market for a RTT and have a Baja Racks RR. I'm curious what you guys would suggest and pros/ cons to each.

    Get a RTT for the Baja Rack or buy bed rails and mount that way? I like the idea of taking my dirtbike but on trips lasting more than a couple of days taking the bike qould not leave much space in the bed for cargo etc. So most likely I'll get a hitch rack for the bike anyway if i dont want to tow my 6ft trailer.

    Oh yea that's why mine works and most don't. My annex is 3 sided. The new ones are 4 sided right?

    Do both. I use it how it best suits the particular trip. Bed rack if I'm not bringing my dual sport. Or roof rack when I am. Or bed rack, and kayaks on the roof rack.

    I will say it's a lot more difficult to mount the tent on a platform style rack than on cross bars. I used to use it on a Thule rack and it's easy to reach under to tighten the nuts. With a platform style rack it's a pain in the ass to reach under to tighten.
    And a bed rack is the easiest. I use a cordless impact gun to tighten and loosen the nuts.

    I am looking into a Mt. Shasta version. I have an 04 dbl cab with Yakima towers and bars on the roof. Will this hold the tent and about 275 lbs....the wife and I ? Or should I make some bed bars?

    Yakima bars should be fine. I use Thule bars mounted to the factory side rails on my Runner. Plenty sturdy.

    i used to load /unload my tent from my truck by myself, you could probably get it on the roof alone or with at least one other person. I would put my tailgate down, lean the tent against the tailgate with the bottom facing the truck, wrapped some extra long ratchet straps around the bars on my rack and then under the tent, climb in the box and pull on the ratchet straps, hauling the tent up and onto the rack. once it was over halfway on the rack pull the straps out and wiggle it into place.

    i have mine on top of the 4runner.

    I managed to get it up there with a friend.

    I park the taco next to the 4runner.. as close as i can.

    I put some 2x4s accross the top of the bed, lift the tent onto the 2x4s on the truck.

    Finally, we jump onto the bed of the truck, and lift it from there onto the 4runner.

    Quick and simple!

    I am hoping that someone can opine on to which direction Topher56 RTT deploys? driver side or passenger side? It appears that his tent is mounted slightly off center, and one would assume that is because the the channel on the tent lines up exactly on the towers of the yakima\thule racks...I am finding myself in the same predicament and would like to know which was is preferable? Mounting closer to the deployment side or further from it? Thank you

    TT
