I thought the ridicule you faced over your previous camp set up helped too ;)

I'm thinking that the Mt Shasta is in my near future, probably through the group buy. I'm planning on mounting it on a set of bed bars that I'll have built for purpose. I'd prefer to keep it as low as reasonable to keep the wind resistance down. What is the height range off the ground I should be targeting to make use of the Annex without it having tons of excess fabric at the base? Or is there a way to deal with the excess fabric?

I beleive there are straps at the bottom that help gather and tighten the remaining fabric. Search CVT Mt Shasta on youtube and you should see Monty, Blackdawg, doing a demo with it. His demo sold me. I would say if you want to stand up underneath the bottom then obviously it needs to be taller than you.

There is a strip of velcro around the interior of annex to adjust the height of the walls. I'm not sure what the optimal heights from the ground are but my tent is roughly 5' off of the ground and walls are just a little saggy when I have it set up (and using the velcro).

Thanks! I didn't know about the velcro, that makes me feel better. I think I'm going to end up with the base of the tent at 5'6" off the ground. Any higher and I'll have issues getting in my garage.

How do the awning walls connect? Zipper I assume? Also do the bottoms of the awning walls have Grommets to attach them o the ground in windy scenarios?

Is there another GB coming? That would be a clincher.

Now that you bring it up, Both!

As I may not always want the floor and just curious on stability in wind. The awning look sto attach to the poles but are their grommets too? Also even more important for the annex as there are no poles.

It gets windy in the mountains :D

The annex has straps with d rings for staking it down. The awning does have stake down rope to hold it down also.

Does anyone have a newer rainier? Curious which way the rails run on the bottom for mounting. Do they run parallel to the 4 foot length or the 6 foot length?

    Thanks

Pretty sure the railing is the same as the hood, and they run the 6ft length.
