Cash back for sticker error?

i recently bought a 2018 TRD OR MT. I received a letter from Toyota saying the sticker said this car had JBL in error And they were offering $700 cash back.

Anyone else get this letter?

 

No, but I just bought a 2018 TRD OR auto loaded and the audio sounds terrible, hopefully I get the same. I could replace the audio for a bit less than $700.

 

Good time to assess if you have buyers remorse. If you like the truck get money back . If you hate the truck get all money back or new truck with JBL ?

 

Love the truck and knew it didn’t really come with JBL. Already switched the tweeters. Just curious if it was a scam or a real offer.

 

Did you know and talk to the salesperson about it before the sale ? Did they sell it to you as if it had no JBL ?

 

@OldDjang ... I have the same question. Did you pay for the JBL even though you know it didn't have it? If not, why are they offering you $700 in return?

No, I didn’t pay for it and the salesperson never promoted it. 3rd gen MT has never had it. It was apparently listed on the sticker though which is why they are offering money back?? That’s why I’m posing the question here because it does seem a bit odd...

 

Very odd for sure, you have never been able to get JBL on the Manual 3rd Gen, take the $700 and be happy.

 

If the letter came from Toyota , call them from a # not on the letter (use internet or TW or what ever ) verify and get the money !

This is great advice. The letter could very well be a phishing attempt to get your banking information or something. I'd be very cautious about this OP.

Does the jbl add $700 to the price?

 

How come I never get scammed where somebody wants to give me $700???

 

It could be worse, the Dealer and Toyota screwed up something, sent me an accidental refund that i had to give it back...

 

That would suck.

 

Especially if they offer to send you a bank check plus an extra $30 to hold the radio until they have someone come to pick the old radio up when your check ‘clears’ in a couple days.

Uh, Oh- never mind , thats what some people try to do all the time whenever I sell something on CL.

 

I hope their refund check cleared before you had to give it back!! Thats a typical scam, too! It will be a sad day when car dealers start scamming people with refunds, yes siree.
