Anyone here on TW have the Casio G'zone Commando? I'm thinking of getting one, but just wanted a personal experience of it and what you think (screen sensitivity, texting, battery life, etc.)

If so, I would greatly appreciate a little review!

Thanks. I'm kinda a speed freak, and I heard it's a bit slow. I'm debating whether to get the Commando (because I drop shit all the time) or wait for Droid 3 or get the Droid X2. Hmmm.

What's different about it? It can withstand drops? or is there more that I'm missing? If that's the case you could always get an otterbox defender case for your next phone, I've got one for my iPhone and it takes a beating

The last "Ruggedized" Casio phone I tried (not long ago), was a great phone, just people couldnt understand me when I was talking. I tried 2 different ones, and the same result was had.

anyone get this yet? looks like a good phone if you are outside a bunch...i beat the piss outta my phone between biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding and just everyday handling...

are the features comparable to the new droids or iphones? if it is slower, then how much more durable is the shell of the phone compared to an otterbox or other protection on a non-"militarized" phone?

It has all of the features of any other android phone. Though there are not custom roms available for it and there probably never will be. The stock launcher is kinda slow and hard to get used to, but you can easily install Launcher Pro or ADW. I would feel very comfortable knocking around in the woods with it. I would buy it if it didn't have a locked bootloader and kernel.

Oh ya screw steve jobs and his overpriced iCrap. :D

Just got one of these the other day. It's a really great phone to me. Android OS is hard to beat. My friend has a Droid X and it is faster but for what I do with it it is great. Plus mine can take a beating a little better!

Well his seems to run really fast. However I am new to the smartphone craze so I'll have to toy around with them a little bit more and really find out

i got one a couple weeks ago. much faster than my blackberry was. features, apps, and overall quality is much better. only complaint is the battery life isnt as good as i was expecting. i pull it off the charger about 12 hrs later the battery is getting down to the yellow area, but i do use it for the internet, weather, phone calls, and a ton of texts and emails all day long.

if your thinking about getting it, i say go for it
