Those are really nice. I would love to find an older 60s-70s era one.

I love my bolt guns they are a lot of fun. Especially taking the WW1 stuff out to the range and putting 500-1000 rnds down range with a metal butt plate as a recoil pad and full power rnds.

this one isn't older. I got it "used" but not very used I think dude said he ran 5 rounds through it. I know it beats the shit out of the weatherby vanguard .300WSm I had. I hated that rifle

Weatherby makes some good stuff or use too. They may have fallen off the QC in recent yrs. I know Ruger with the M77 isn't as good as they once were.

Colt is the best AR under 1k. I wont buy anything below a colt. And not a sporter. A colt Le6920 is about as basic as I get.

    QA- Quality Assurance
    QC-Quality Control

BCM is Bravo Company USA, based out of Wisconsin, former Marine Owned. I have around 8500 rds through my BCM I bought 2 and a half years ago, Ill re barrel it in around 19k.

That's true. I don't have time to dilly dally with factory guns nothing I have ever gotten my hands on has been what I wanted expected so I build my own.
:rofl:AR stuff. Colt does make ARs still though their QC went to shit and nothing coming from colt is really good anymore you can get a S&W AR sport for around 500 bucks and it'll outshoot the current colt offering that starts at 900. Colt is just a name recently. Some of my wheel gun buddies say their wheel guns are suffering as well with poor QC

It was a nice rifle, synthetic stock, black stainless barrell, and not too heavy for a magnum. I liked the short action. I put a Nikon scope on it and the rifle shot very well. I couldn't stand the Nikon and when shooting from the bench the rifle would constantly crack me in the nose. I got it for it's long range characteristics for a place I was hunting. I lost the place and wasn't putting up with that rifle anymore so sold it and bought the Browning. I wish I'd have bought that to begin with. Leupold VXII 3-9x50 and it's a shooting little bitch with just factory amo

I hate synthetic stocks on a hunting rifle especially magnum cartridges. Just too light and hard to control recoil well.

Oh there are plenty of high dollar very accurate bolt rifles out there. I guess it's kinda like these trucks, figure out what you want to do with it first. If you want to shoot dots at 1000yds then by all means. If you want to hunt with it a nice Savage with a synthetic stock and accu trigger is all ya need. This Browning is the first "pretty gun" I have bought in a long time. I usually go for a synthetic stock because i beat the shit out of them.

Savages are probably the best bang for your buck with that trigger. I completely agree.

So, my needs and wants are different. I dont need to hit a nats ass at 1k.
But I want to be terminal at 1k. So most guns like that are syn stock. Even though realistically most shots are 300 yards tops out by me on deer or bear.

    and yes on the sendero

Ummmmmmm yeah ok. None of my wood stocked hunting rigs suffer from swelling and issues that occur because of that.
