So I'm thinking about taking my stock Sport rims and painting them blue.
    Pic to visualize: [IMG]

I'm wanting to add more blue to my build so I can have a White, Black and Blue theme. (Haven't decided on name yet but considering Sub-Zero).

Think this would be too much or too flashy?

How did you paint your rims?

If your wheels are in that good a shape you can just scuff them with a red 180grt scotchbrite pad, clean them really well with a reducer, spray 1 or 2 very light coats of self etching primer on them, then top coat with your paint of choice. IDK how that particular paint will look but that is also a personal prefference. Funny, i have to go for an interview with a company for a job painting wheels next week, BTW the name Sub Zero is taken i believe

Most names are taken. Mine's pretty common. I've worked three places where someone with my same first and last name either just left, was working at, or works in a different part of the company.

I think a darker deep blue would look good. Like a midnight or navy. Also one without the metal flake. That shit is a bitch to spray and make look good plus touching up.

Thanks. I may just spray em black or white. I just want to be different lmao. If I could afford the Blue Volk 17s I would do that instead!

Idk what your budget is like but have you considered looking into having them Powder coated. I have a sneaky feeling that won’t be much less expensive than buying the Volks. Those are good looking wheels. A guy I know here has a set of them in bronze on an inferno 3rd gen

 I had some volk TE37s on one of my 240s. That blue would look sick on your truck. If you could get some Tundy wheels like Chris that would look even better!

I was a one income homeowner for 10 yrs. and am still a one income renter which is more than my mortgage, ins, and taxes ea. month. Just gotta squirrel away a little at a time for those big mods. As soon as the marlin crawler released their rock crawling LT system I opened a savings account and have been putting a little in as I can.

Got a good mod done this weekend when Skip came up for us to work on his truck. We installed the Deaver stage 3 expo leaf packs in mine 9 progressive leaves with 2 over loads and a set of Bilstein B110's. I still have to install the extended brake lines.

Skip brought me my new bumper from SOS also I'll need to get to work on this here shortly.

We had a big weekend this weekend. Skip @ovrlndkull came up from NC on Friday. He brought my new bumper and a whole truck load of stuff. We have planned this weekend for a couple of months and boy what a weekend.
We started Friday at 1PM as soon as he got there. We unloaded the truck then pulled it into the garage and the fun began. We started by cutting off the upper shock mounts and tacking in place the new Archive garage extended shock mounts. Then we pulled it outside and removed the bed and backed it back up to the garage and power washed all the rear frame.

We pulled it back into the garage and moved it so it sat sideways in the garage and we had plenty of room to work. We dropped thegas tank and took it outside and got it out of the way. Then we removed all the oem leaf spring mounts. Fun stuff but it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Skip began welding all the new leaf spring mounts up while I began cutting 1/4" plates to box the frame. I borrowed a steel cutting skill saw from a buddy and it and the plasma cutter made good work out of the frame plates and removing all the mounts. We finally called it quits about 10PM

Saturday was the big day! We started about 6:30 in the morning and finished up cutting the frame plates and welding up the mounts. Everybody got here around 7:30-9 am and the mayhem began.:

The frame was completely boxed all the way up to the cab.
A cross tube was welded in above the axel for bracing and to munt limit straps
the front leaf mounts were tacked in place
The Chevy 63" leafs were attached to the front mounts
Then the fun began figuring out the proper placement of the rear leaf mounts and what was the correct shackle length to use
    The Ubolt flip was installed
Then the suspension was onbolted and everything was welded solid
Everything was painted and the suspension was reinstalled
Lower shock mounts were cut off with the plasma and grond smooth
New lower shock mounts were located and welded in place
    14" 2.5" KINGS with RR's were installed
The RR mounts were welded in place
Installed a new bed side on the passenger side
    The gas tank was reinstalled
    The bed was reinstalled
Finally the rear bumper was reinstalled

A big shout out to all who helped. It was a long day @EatSleepTacos , @PyritePirateBill , @boogie3478 , @pabstsmeared these guys hung in like troopers until we had the bumper on. What a huge help not just physically but mentally helping to figure out all the measurements and getting everything set right. Skip and I kept going until we had the tailgate on, tail lights, and some other odds and ends and we loaded a bunch of his stuff up. Christie kicked in helping to supply a great breakfast and Mac n cheese with dinner and Bill brought some great potato salad I just smked some ribs so I could keep working, in the smoker for 7 hours. I figured if these guys were going to drive all the way out to my house and work all day I could at the very least feed them. I haven't ever done a work party like this so I didn't know what the norm was but I don't believe anybody left hungry at least.

We jumped up this morning and got to work around 7 and jumped strait onto my suspension swap. Then we did cab mount relocates to Skip's truck completely removing the oem cab mounts and installing new ones a couple inches further back. This wasn't as bad as we thought it would be but still took some time to remove the oem ones. Skip finally left here around 3. So I figure we each had about 33 hours into this weekend. Very busy but alot of fun and educational.

I think Skip left hauling back more than he came with.

There'll be a pretty good write up in his thread.
