I knew you were looking for a new job. Just didn’t know you got this cool gig. Sounds like it would be fun, and it’s so close to the house. Congratulations.

Just checked out there website. Looks like pretty cool place. From the employee profiles they sound like a fun loving group of people.

Ha nope I worked at an airport in fleet maintenance I’ve been doing welding, body work and painting my whole career and tore my shoulder up. Work terminated me when the workers comp doc put permanent restrictions on me.

I found the current job at a local job fair doing something completely different than I ever had and decided, why not give it a shot? It’s a lot of physical work but different than before I just have to pay attention to staying in my restrictions.

Isn’t it illegal to terminate someone based on having a disability?

Nope. Especially not in a right to work state apparently. Not something that apparently happens often. The permanent restrictions placed upon me by their doctor deemed me unfit to perform my job. I was given a certain period of time to find a new job within the company that fit both my restrictions and skill set with no offer to train me to do another position. I’m now working for less than half pay and have some partial payment from workers comp to make up the difference at least until they want to settle if they do

Ever thought about consulting with a lawyer? Might be worth the $100 hour consultation fee to find out if they were truly allowed to terminate you like that.

At the very least I’d think you were entitled to a settlement due to your injuries, presumably that you got from doing the job.

Thanks, Christie cut me the stencils for the painted part I had to do the red part by hand. Going to cut it out of steel and just leave it raw

What gets me is most of the time they don't know the soldier but you can see it in their eyes and faces they are saddened by the loss of their brother even never meeting that person.

I'm going to have to stop by some time. I'm on route 29 a lot here lately!

Both my grandfathers had military tributes at there funerals. It really made me proud as I never heard either of them speak one word about there time in the wars/service. My uncle passed this spring and I was holding it together fairly well until they played taps. Sorry for your loss man.
